EERSTE AANVRAAGTIJDVAK SUBSIDIE VOOR INITIATIEVEN SLAVERNIJVERLEDEN GAAT OPEN

Kralendijk,- Het eerste aanvraagtijdvak van de nieuwe Subsidieregeling voor Maatschappelijke initiatieven trans-Atlantisch slavernijverleden voor het Caribisch deel van het Koninkrijk gaat vandaag open.

Stichtingen en verenigingen kunnen tijdens het eerste aanvraagtijdvak een subsidieaanvraag doen voor het professionaliseren van hun organisatie (categorie 1). Dit kan door middel van

• het volgen van  een opleiding, training of cursus voor bestuursleden of medewerkers van hun organisatie, en/of;
•  het laten bouwen of verbeteren van hun website om zo het bereik van hun projecten te vergroten.

Het subsidiebedrag in het eerste tijdvak voor het Caribisch deel van het Koninkrijk is een vast bedrag van $10,000.

Excuses

De subsidieregeling is een van de acties naar aanleiding van de excuses voor het Nederlands slavernijverleden die de minister-president op 19 december 2022 aanbood. Voor de subsidieregeling is voor het Caribisch deel van het Koninkrijk een budget van ruim €29.3 miljoen beschikbaar.

In totaal zijn er acht aanvraagrondes voor vier verschillende subsidies, verspreid over drie jaar, waarin organisaties subsidie kunnen aanvragen voor projecten die bijdragen aan bewustwording, erkenning en herdenken en een beter begrip van de doorwerking van het slavernijverleden en de verwerking daarvan. Een volgend tijdvak om aanvragen in te dienen voor projecten tussen $10.000 en $25.000 (categorie 2) wordt op 1 december 2025, 09:00 uur CET, opengesteld en sluit op 12 januari 2026, 17:00 uur CET.

Voor het Caribisch deel van het Koninkrijk is een speciale website gebouwd, Legacy to Future Funds. Hierop staat informatie over de subsidieregeling en een verwijzing naar de website van Uitvoering Van Beleid (UVB) van het Ministerie van Sociale Zaken en Werkgelegenheid die de regeling uitvoert. Een subsidieaanvraag kan worden ingediend via het subsidieportaal van UVB. De informatie over de regeling en  registratie in het aanvraagportaal is op de website beschikbaar in Papiamentu, Papiamento, Engels en Nederlands. Daarnaast heeft u voor het aanvraagproces de keuze tussen Nederlandse of Engelse communicatie.

FIRST APPLICATION TIME SLOT SUBSIDY FOR INITIATIVES SLAVERY PAST OPENS

Kralendijk,- The first application time slot subsidy for the new Subsidy regulation for Social initiatives trans-Atlantic slavery past for the Caribbean part of the Kingdom opens today.

Foundations and associations during the first application time slot can apply for subsidy to professionalize their organization (category 1). This can be done through:

• Education, taking part in a training or a course for board members or employees of their organization, and/or;
• Constructing or improving their website in order to increase the impact of their projects.

The subsidy amount in the first application time slot for the Caribbean part of the Kingdom is a fixed amount of $10,000.

Apology

The subsidy regulation is one of the actions following the apology for the Dutch slavery past that the prime minister offered on December 19, 2022. A budget of more than €29.3 million is available for the subsidy regulation for the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.

In total, there are eight application rounds for four different subsidies, spread over three years, during which organizations can apply for subsidy for projects that contribute to awareness, recognition and commemoration as well as a better understanding of the continued effects of the slavery past and the healing thereof. A subsequent time slot to submit applications for projects between $10.000 and $25.000 (category 2) will be opened on December 1, 2025 at 9:00am CET and closes on January 12, 2026 at 5:00pm CET.
