E selebrashon, planifiká pa Djasabra 12 di sèptèmber 2026 i dediká na honor di Gilbert Soliana, ta un oportunidat pa rindi homenahe, preservá nos kultura i fortalese nos lasonan komo pueblo.

La Virgen del Valle, patrona stimá di piskadónan, ta simbolisá protekshon, speransa i union. Kada aña, su fiesta ta atraé devotonan i famianan ku ta selebrá e dia aki komo un tradishon sagrado.

E programa di dia lo habri ku un proseshon di botonan dekorá den bahia di Sorobon pa 15:30, sigui pa un misa solèm pa 16:30 na e mesun lugá. E misa lo ta akompañá pa kor di La Virgen del Valle. E selebrashon lo sera ku un brindis komunal den un ambiente di alegria, terminando rondó 19:30.

Fiesta di La Virgen del Valle ta hopi mas ku un aktividat religioso; e ta un símbolo di identidat i unidat. Nos ta invitá komunidat di piskadó i públiko en general pa tuma parti den e momentu spesial aki, krea rekuerdonan nobo i sigui fortalese nos konekshon komo famia i amigunan di piskadónan.

CELEBRATION OF LA VIRGEN DEL VALLE: A FEAST OF FAITH AND UNITY 

Kralendijk –  Once again, Sorobon will become a gathering place of faith and tradition as Bonaire’s fishing community comes together to honor La Virgen del Valle during her annual feast. The celebration, planned for Saturday, September 12, 2026, and held in honor of Gilbert Soliana, offers an opportunity to pay tribute, preserve our culture, and strengthen our bonds as a community.

La Virgen del Valle, the beloved patron saint of fishermen, symbolizes protection, hope, and unity. Each year, her feast brings devotees and families together to observe this sacred tradition.

The day’s program will begin with a procession of decorated boats in Sorobon Bay at 3:30 p.m., followed by a solemn Mass at 4:30 p.m. at the same location. The Mass will be accompanied by the choir of La Virgen del Valle. The celebration will conclude with a communal toast in a joyful atmosphere, ending at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The Feast of La Virgen del Valle is much more than a religious observance; it is a symbol of identity and unity. We invite the fishing community and the wider public to take part in this special occasion, create new memories, and continue strengthening our connections as family and friends of the fishermen.

IMPORTANT: Balloons may not be used to decorate the boats. All participants are asked to choose only safe and environmentally responsible decorations to help protect Sorobon Bay and Bonaire’s natural environment.
