Durante di e kareda, tabata tin 46 boluntario ku a asistí e partisipantenan na pòstnan di awa. Na final, partisipantenan a reuni pa e seremonia di premiashon, unda e ganadonan a risibí nan premio.

GESLAAGDE EDITIE VAN DE DUO XTREME BONAIRE MET 80 DEELNEMERS UIT ARUBA, CURAÇAO, NEDERLAND EN BONAIRE
Kralendijk,- Afgelopen zondag vond de Duo Xtreme Bonaire 2024 plaats, met 80 enthousiaste deelnemers, waaronder fietsers die speciaal voor het evenement zijn ingevlogen uit Aruba, Curaçao en Nederland.
Velen brachten zelfs hun eigen fietsen mee naar Bonaire voor deze unieke uitdaging.
Het jaarlijkse evenement biedt fietsers van verschillende niveaus – van amateurs tot fanatieke rijders – de keuze uit twee routes.
De kortere, maar technisch uitdagende route van 55 km omvatte onder meer de klim aan de noordkant van Seru Largu, terwijl de langere route van 76 km een echte test was voor de meer ervaren rijders. Deze route leidde hen door het beruchte onderdeel ‘De Hel,’ dat de fysieke en mentale fitheid van de deelnemers zwaar op de proef stelde.
Langs de route stonden 46 vrijwilligers paraat om de deelnemers te ondersteunen met waterposten en controlepunten. Na de race kwamen de deelnemers en hun supporters samen voor de prijsuitreiking, waarbij winnaars in verschillende categorieën werden gehuldigd.
Wat dit evenement zo bijzonder maakt, is hoe het sporters uit de regio samenbrengt voor een uitdagende race, terwijl het de onderlinge band tussen de eilanden versterkt.
De Duo Xtreme-evenementen vinden jaarlijks plaats op Bonaire, Curaçao en Aruba. Op 3 november wordt het volgende evenement gehouden op Curaçao, en op 1 december is Aruba aan de beurt.
De Bonaire Bicycle Club nam de organisatie van de race op Bonaire op zich, met onder anderen Frank Böhm van De Freewieler, die zich al jarenlang inzet voor de Duo Xtreme Bonaire.

SUCCESSFUL EDITION OF DUO XTREME BONAIRE WITH 80 PARTICIPANTS FROM ARUBA, CURAÇAO, THE NETHERLANDS, AND BONAIRE
Bonaire – Last Sunday, the Duo Xtreme Bonaire 2024 took place, featuring 80 enthusiastic participants, including cyclists who flew in specifically for the event from Aruba, Curaçao, and the Netherlands. Many even brought their own bicycles to Bonaire for this unique challenge.
The annual event offers cyclists of various levels—from amateurs to avid riders—the choice between two routes.
The shorter but technically challenging 55 km route included the climb on the north side of Seru Largu, while the longer 76 km route was a true test for more experienced riders. This route led them through the infamous section known as ‘The Hell’, which tested the physical and mental fitness of the participants.
Along the route, 46 volunteers were on hand to support the participants with water stations and checkpoints. After the race, the participants and their supporters gathered for the awards ceremony, where winners in various categories were honored.
What makes this event so special is how it brings athletes from the region together for a challenging race while strengthening the bonds between the islands.
The Duo Xtreme events take place annually on Bonaire, Curaçao, and Aruba. The next event will be held on November 3rd in Curaçao, and on December 1st, it’s Aruba’s turn. The Bonaire Bicycle Club organized the race in Bonaire, including Frank Böhm of De Freewieler, who has been organizing the Duo Xtreme Bonaire for many years.
