Philipsburg,- Op verzoek van de autoriteiten van Sint Maarten ondersteunt Defensie Caribisch gebied de komende periode de lokale politie op het eiland. Defensie ondersteunt het Korps Politie Sint Maarten bij het waarborgen van de veiligheid en het handhaven van de openbare orde.

Het ondersteunen van civiele autoriteiten is een van de drie hoofdtaken van Defensie in het Caribisch gebied. De samenwerking tussen Defensie en het Korps Politie Sint Maarten onderstreept het gezamenlijke doel om de veiligheid en stabiliteit op Sint Maarten te versterken.

Philipsburg,- At the request of the authorities of Sint Maarten, Defense in the Caribbean Region will be supporting the local police force on the island in the coming period. Defense is assisting the Sint Maarten Police Force in ensuring safety and maintaining public order. 

Supporting civil authorities is one of the three core tasks of Defense in the Caribbean Region. The cooperation between Defense and the Sint Maarten Police Force underscores the shared goal of strengthening safety and stability on Sint Maarten.
