SCHOLEN ZETTEN ZICH IN VOOR EEN SCHONER BONAIRE TIJDENS BON DOET 2025

Kralendijk,- Op vrijdag 16 mei deden een aantal scholen enthousiast mee aan de speciale scholenactie van BON DOET, als onderdeel van de viering van 15 jaar BON DOET op Bonaire.

Basisschool Rayo di Solo, Basisschool de Pelikaan en Liseo Boneriano namen dit jaar deel en droegen actief bij aan een schoner en meer betrokken Bonaire.

Basisschool Rayo di Solo deed mee met alle groepen 8. Tijdens hun clean-up vonden de leerlingen een sedula, rijbewijs en autosleutels, die zij netjes bij de politie hebben afgegeven. Hun inzet werd beloond met een uitstapje naar Flamingo Adventure Golf, aangeboden door het management van Flamingo Adventure Golf zelf.

Liseo Boneriano sprong eruit met deelname van 120 eersteklassers, verdeeld over BON DOET-klussen en een schoonmaakactie rondom de school. Een enthousiaste groep docenten gaf aan graag al deze leerlingen te willen laten deelnemen aan een vrijwilligersklus. Dankzij goede samenwerking met het BON DOET-team en de NGO’s is dit grotendeels gelukt.

De docenten beoordeelden elke klas aan de hand van beoordelingsformulieren en kozen zo een winnende klas. Hun prijs? Een retour met de watertaxi naar Klein Bonaire, aangeboden door EPIC.

Het BON DOET-team trakteerde alle deelnemers op koekjes, mogelijk gemaakt door een gulle donatie van OP=OP Bonaire.

Uiteraard werd ook gezorgd voor vuilniszakken, juice en snacks.

Met deze actie laten jongeren zien dat vrijwilligerswerk niet alleen belangrijk is, maar ook leuk en verbindend kan zijn.

BON DOET is een vrijwilligersactie georganiseerd door NGO Platform Bonaire in samenwerking met het Oranje Fonds en verschillende maatschappelijke organisaties, met als doel het stimuleren van vrijwilligerswerk op Bonaire.

SCHOOLS JOIN HANDS FOR A CLEANER BONAIRE DURING BON DOET 2025

Kralendijk,- On Friday, May 16, several schools enthusiastically participated in the special school edition of BON DOET, as part of the 15th anniversary celebration of BON DOET on Bonaire.

Basisschool Rayo di Solo, Basisschool de Pelikaan, and Liseo Boneriano joined this year and actively contributed to a cleaner and more engaged Bonaire.

Rayo di Solo participated with all Grade 8 classes.

During their cleanup, students found a sedula, a driver’s license, and car keys, which they respectfully handed over to the police. Their efforts were rewarded with a fun outing to Flamingo Adventure Golf, kindly offered by the Flamingo Adventure Golf management.

Liseo Boneriano Solo stood out with full participation of 120 first-year students, divided between BON DOET projects and a cleanup around the school.

A group of enthusiastic teachers expressed the wish to have all students take part in a volunteer activity. Thanks to the great cooperation with the BON DOET team and several NGOs, this was largely made possible.

Teachers used evaluation forms to assess each class and select a winning class. Their prize? A round-trip with the water taxi to Klein Bonaire, generously offered by EPIC.

The BON DOET team treated all participants to cookies, made possible by a kind donation from OP=OP Bonaire. Naturally, trash bags, juice, and snacks were also provided.

Through this initiative, the youth showed that volunteer work is not only important but also fun and connecting.

BON DOET is a volunteer initiative organized by NGO Platform Bonaire in collaboration with the Oranje Fonds and various nonprofit organizations, aimed at encouraging volunteer work in Bonaire.
