BONAIRE VERWELKOMT EERSTE VLUCHT JETBLUE

Kralendijk,- Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) heeft in samenwerking met het Openbaar Lichaam Bonaire (OLB), Bonaire International Airport (BIA) en Bonaire Hotel and Tourism Association (BONHATA) de eerste vlucht van JetBlue naar Bonaire verwelkomd op 5 november 2024.

De ambassadeurs van Bonaire hebben de Airbus A350 ontvangen met een vlaggengroet gevolgd door een feestelijk evenement op de luchthaven.

TCB heeft alle aankomende bezoekers hartelijk begroet in een culturele setting met folkloristische muziek van de ‘ka’i orgel’, en met lokale ambassadeurs gekleed in traditionele folkloristische kledij. Alle bezoekers ontvingen een welkomstgeschenk als blijk van waardering voor het vliegen naar Bonaire met de inaugurele vlucht van JetBlue.

Tijdens de ceremonie gaf Miles Mercera, directeur van TCB, aan enthousiast te zijn over de nieuwe samenwerking en de vluchten van JetBlue naar Bonaire. “Het verwelkomen van JetBlue als luchtvaartpartner markeert een belangrijke stap in ons streven om ons prachtige eiland toegankelijker te maken voor Noord-Amerikaanse reizigers”, aldus Miles Mercera.

“Deze uitbreiding weerspiegelt niet alleen de groeiende interesse in onze regio, maar laat ook onze toewijding zien aan het bevorderen van toerisme te bevorderen en het verwelkomen van bezoekers om de unieke cultuur en prachtige landschappen die wij te bieden hebben te ervaren.

In het verlengde van de viering van deze mijlpaal voor Bonaire, heeft TCB in samenwerking met Diamond Public Relations en sectorpartners een groep freelancers en mediapartners die in de stad New York gevestigd zijn, uitgenodigd om het eiland te komen verkennen, deel te nemen aan leuke activiteiten en voor het eerst nieuwe culinaire ervaringen uit te proberen.

Deze mediatrip staat gepland voor 9 tot en met 12 november 2024.

De nieuwe non-stop vlucht zal twee keer per week worden uitgevoerd en vertrekt op dinsdag en zaterdag vanaf John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) om 7:00 uur ‘s ochtends en komt op Bonaire aan om 12:35 uur ‘s middags. De retourvluchten vertrekken om 13:50 uur vanuit Bonaire en landen om 17:35 uur op JFK.

BONAIRE WELCOMES JETBLUE’S FIRST FLIGHT TO THE ISLAND

Kralendijk,-Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB), in partnership with The Public Entity of Bonaire, Bonaire International Airport (BIA), and Bonaire Hotel and Tourism Association (BONHATA), welcomed JetBlue’s first flight to the island of Bonaire, on November 5^th, 2024.

The Bonaire Ambassadors welcomed the Airbus A350 with a flag salute, followed by a celebratory event at the airport.

TCB warmly welcomed all arriving visitors in a cultural setting with folkloric and ‘ka’i orgel’ music and local ambassadors dressed in traditional folkloric attire. All visitors received a welcome gift as a mark of appreciation for flying to Bonaire on JetBlue’s inaugural flight.

At the ceremony event, Miles Mercera, CEO of TCB, signified his excitement for the new partnership and air services of JetBlue to Bonaire.

“Welcoming JetBlue as an airline partner marks a significant step in our commitment to making our beautiful island more accessible to North American travelers,” noted Miles Mercera.

The Media Trip is scheduled to take place from November 9^th to 12^th, 2024.

The new, nonstop flight will operate twice weekly, departing on Tuesdays and Saturdays from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) at 7:00 a.m. and arriving at Bonaire at 12:35 p.m. The return flights will depart Bonaire at 1:50 p.m. and land at JFK at 5.35 p.m.
