KINGS OF THE BARIO 2026 BRENGT 3X3 BASKETBAL NAAR HET HART VAN BONAIRE

Kralendijk, – De Bonaire Basketball Federation heeft Kings of the Bario 2026 officieel gelanceerd. Deze outdoor 3×3-basketbaltour brengt de energie van de sport rechtstreeks naar de gemeenschap. Leg 1 op de parkeerplaats van Trans World Radio zit erop. De tour gaat op zondag 20 september verder op de parkeerplaats van Best Brands en bereikt daarna zijn grote finale op het Wilhelminaplein op 27 September.

Het toernooi omvat wedstrijden in de categorieën U12, U15 en Adults. De drie locaties zijn bewust gekozen vanwege hun grote zichtbaarheid. In plaats van basketbal uitsluitend achter de deuren van een sporthal te houden, brengt BBF het veld naar plekken waar inwoners, gezinnen, bezoekers en voorbijgangers de wedstrijden kunnen zien, zich rond het veld kunnen verzamelen en de sfeer van 3×3-basketbal kunnen beleven.

Kings of the Bario sluit aan bij de missie van BBF om basketbal over heel Bonaire te promoten en verder te ontwikkelen. Het toernooi biedt lokale spelers een competitief podium, brengt publiek samen en versterkt de band tussen het basketbal en de bredere gemeenschap. Iedere locatie zorgt daarnaast voor meer publieke zichtbaarheid van de sport, de deelnemende teams en de ondersteunende partners.

De visie van BBF is om Kings of the Bario uit te bouwen tot een herkenbare jaarlijkse traditie voor outdoor basketbal. Met toegankelijke evenementen op prominente locaties wil de federatie de 3×3-cultuur op het eiland laten groeien, de volgende generatie inspireren, de ontwikkeling van spelers versterken en een grotere, meer betrokken basketbalgemeenschap opbouwen.

Nu Leg 1 is afgerond, nodigt BBF de gemeenschap uit om de tour te volgen naar Best Brands en daarna naar het Wilhelminaplein voor de finale. De federatie roept supporters, gezinnen en basketballiefhebbers op om samen van iedere locatie een viering van de sport te maken.

KINGS OF THE BARIO 2026 BRINGS 3X3 BASKETBALL INTO THE HEART OF BONAIRE

Kralendijk,- The Bonaire Basketball Federation has officially launched Kings of the Bario 2026, its outdoor 3×3 basketball tour created to bring the energy of the game directly into the community. Leg 1 at the Trans World Radio parking lot is now in the books, with the tour continuing at the Best Brands parking lot on Sunday, 20 September, before reaching its grand finale at Wilhelmina Plein on the 27^th of September.

The tournament features competition in the U12, U15 and Adults categories. The three venues were selected deliberately for their high visibility. Instead of keeping basketball behind sports-hall doors, BBF is placing the court where residents, families, visitors and passers-by can see the action, gather around the game and experience the atmosphere of 3×3 basketball.

Kings of the Bario supports BBF’s mission to promote and develop basketball throughout Bonaire. The tournament gives local players a competitive platform, brings spectators together and creates stronger connections between basketball and the wider community. Every stop also gives the sport, participating teams and supporting partners greater public exposure.

BBF’s vision is to establish Kings of the Bario as a recognizable annual outdoor basketball tradition. Through accessible community events in prominent locations, the federation aims to grow the island’s 3×3 culture, inspire the next generation, strengthen player development and build a larger, more engaged basketball community.
