SLUITING CATEGORIEËN 3 & 4 SUBSIDIE VOOR INITIATIEVEN SLAVERNIJVERLEDEN 1 JUNI

Kralendijk,- Vanaf 1 april zijn twee aanvraagtijdvakken voor de Subsidieregeling voor Maatschappelijke initiatieven trans-Atlantisch slavernijverleden voor het Caribisch deel van het Koninkrijk geopend. Stichtingen en verenigingen kunnen in categorieën 3 en 4 tot 1 juni a.s. 17:00 uur CET een subsidieaanvraag doen voor middelgrote of grootschalige maatschappelijke initiatieven.

Onder categorie 3 & 4 vallen: diverse projecten in relatie tot het slavernijverleden, het organiseren van bijeenkomsten of evenementen die bijdragen aan de verwerking van het slavernijverleden, projecten voor educatie en kunstuitingen waaronder tentoonstellingen en voorstellingen. De projecten moeten ten goede komen aan de (gemeenschap van) nazaten van de tot slaaf gemaakten en (langdurig) impact maken.

Subsidiebedrag

Het subsidiebedrag per aanvraag voor categorie 3 is minimaal USD 25.000 en maximaal USD 125.000. Voor categorie 4 is dit minimaal USD 125.000 en maximaal USD 500.000. De aanvraagtijdvakken zijn open tot 1 juni 2026 17:00 uur CET. De volgende keer dat deze categorieën weer open gaan is op 1 april en 1 juni 2027.

Over de subsidieregeling

De subsidieregeling is een van de acties naar aanleiding van de excuses voor het Nederlands slavernijverleden die de minister-president op 19 december 2022 aanbood. Voor de subsidieregeling is voor het Caribisch deel van het Koninkrijk een budget van ruim €29.3 miljoen beschikbaar. In totaal zijn er acht aanvraagrondes voor vier verschillende subsidies, verspreid over drie jaar.

APPLICATION PERIODS FOR SUBSIDY CATEGORIES 3 & 4 FOR HISTORY OF SLAVERY INITIATIVES CLOSING ON 1 JUNE 2026

Kralendijk,- Two application periods for the Subsidy regulation for social initiatives relating to the transatlantic slavery history of the Caribbean part of the Kingdom (Subsidieregeling voor Maatschappelijke initiatieven trans-Atlantisch slavernijverleden voor het Caribisch deel van het Koninkrijk) have been open since 1 April. Category 3 and 4 charities and associations can submit a subsidy application for medium-scale or large-scale social initiatives until 17:00 CET on 1 June 2026.

Categories 3 and 4 include various projects relating to the history of slavery, the organising of meetings or events to help people come to terms with our slavery past and projects in the fields of education and artistic expressions, including exhibitions and performances. The projects must benefit the (community of) descendants of enslaved people and have a(n) (lasting) impact.

Subsidy amount

The subsidy amount per Category 3 application ranges from a minimum of USD 25,000 to a maximum of USD 125,000. The amount per Category 4 application ranges from a minimum of USD 125,000 to a maximum of USD 500,000. The deadline for applications is 17:00 CET on 1 June 2026. The next time application periods will open for these categories will be on 1 April and 1 June 2027.

Background information on the subsidy regulation

The subsidy regulation is one of the measures introduced following the Prime Minister’s apology for the Netherlands’ history of slavery on 19 December 2022. A budget of well over €29.3 million is available for the subsidy regulation for the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. In total there are eight application periods for four different subsidies, spread over three years.
