MIVABO BIDS FAREWELL TO BOARD MEMBER RIA DOKTER.

Over eight years of dedication to accessibility and inclusion on Bonaire

MiVaBo is saying goodbye to board member Ria Dokter. For more than eight years, she has worked with great dedication and commitment to advocate for the interests of people with disabilities and to foster a more accessible Bonaire.

Ria understands the importance of accessibility like few others. Drawing from her own experience as a long-term caregiver—as well as her own challenges with mobility—she knows just how significant an impact a lack of accessibility can have on daily life. She has channeled this personal experience into a strong commitment to raising awareness and driving improvements.

Ria’s contributions extend beyond her board duties; for instance, she writes columns that highlight accessibility issues on Bonaire. Through this work, she brings topics that might seem self-evident to some—but are far from it for others—to the attention of a wider audience.

MiVaBo is deeply grateful to Ria for everything she has contributed to the foundation and its mission over the past eight years. Her dedication, involvement, and persistence have helped ensure a sustained focus on creating a Bonaire where everyone can participate as independently and fully as possible.

Although her term on the MiVaBo board is coming to an end, Ria will continue to serve the community in other ways. MiVaBo wishes her every success and much joy, including in her role at *Hofi Kultural*.

Thank you, Ria, for your years of dedication and commitment. We wish you all the best for the future!
