ROTARY CLUB BONAIRE INSTALLEERT NIEUW BESTUUR.

Kralendijk,- De sfeervolle ambiance van restaurant Macaroca was afgelopen zaterdag de plaats waar de Rotary Club Bonaire haar jaarlijkse bestuurswisseling organiseerde.

Na een welkomstborrel nodigde ceremoniemeester Jeaniro Balentien iedereen aan tafel en verwelkomde de gasten en de partners van de leden.

Tussen de gangen door gaven de afzwaaiend voorzitter en vice-voorzitter op humoristische wijze een overzicht van de hoogtepunten van hun bestuursjaren.

Daarna droeg Jan Okhuijsen het voorzitterschap over aan Barbara Griot die vervolgens haar medebestuursleden Corine van der Hout en Rosalie Bierings installeerde als Penningmeester en Secretaris.

In een indrukwekkende toespraak legde de nieuwe voorzitter haar visie voor. Vanuit verwondering wil zij met de leden oude gewoontes opnieuw bekijken om vanuit verbinding zaken te vernieuwen. Barbara wil de roest van de routine, van de vanzelfsprekendheid wegpoetsen om de club nieuw elan te geven.

Op deze feestelijke avond kon het traditionele spektakel niet ontbreken. De nieuwe voorzitter had zich tevoren laten ontvallen de club te willen ontroesten. Ze kon gelijk beginnen toen een loeiende sirene de brancard aankondigde waarop haar penningmeester werd binnengebracht. Een behandeling met WD-40 bracht de patiënt weer op de been en het nummer Celebration van Kool & The Gang  bracht iedereen naar de dansvloer.

De informele nazit gaf de vertegenwoordigers van de lokale Lions en Kiwanis clubs en de Rotary Clubs Willemstad en Aruba de gelegenheid om de contacten met Rotary Club Bonaire te versterken.

ROTARY CLUB BONAIRE INSTALLS NEW BOARD.

Kralendijk,- The atmospheric ambience of Macaroca restaurant was the venue for the Rotary Club Bonaire’s annual board changeover last Saturday.

After a welcome drink, master of ceremonies Jeaniro Balentien invited everyone to the table and welcomed the guests and partners of the members.

Between courses, the outgoing chairman and vice-chairman humorously gave an overview of the highlights of their board years. Jan Okhuijsen then handed over the chairmanship to Barbara Griot, who then installed her fellow board members Corine van der Hout and Rosalie Bierings as Treasurer and Secretary.

In an impressive speech, the new chairman presented her vision. From wonder, she wants to revisit old habits with the members to renew things from connection. Barbara wants to brush away the rust of routine, of self-evidence, to give the club new impetus.

This festive evening could not lack the traditional spectacle. The new president had hinted beforehand that she wanted to de-rust the club. She could start right away when a blaring siren announced the stretcher on which her treasurer was brought in.

A treatment with WD-40 got the patient back on her feet and the song Celebration by Kool & The Gang brought everyone to the dance floor.

The informal afterparty gave the representatives of the local Lions and Kiwanis clubs and the Rotary Clubs Willemstad and Aruba the opportunity to strengthen contacts with Rotary Club Bonaire.
