STCB OPENT NIEUW KANTOOR DANKZIJ DONATIES VAN BLUE JAY BV EN STICHTING DIERENLOT

Kralendijk,- Afgelopen maart is Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire (STCB) verhuisd naar Kaya Aruba 4^E, aan de boulevard. Na vele jaren op de Kaya Korona, kreeg de organisatie de kans om een kantoor en klein bezoekerscentrum te openen aan de Kaya Aruba, in het nieuwe Turtuga gebouw.

Deze nieuwe locatie is mogelijk gemaakt door genereuze donaties van Blue Jay BV en Stichting DierenLot.

‘We zijn Blue Jay BV en Stichting DierenLot erg dankbaar voor het doneren van deze kantoorruimte’, zei Kaj Schut, Manager van STCB. ‘Het is een droom die uitkomt: we hebben nu een prachtige educatie ruimte, met een informatieve muur ontworpen door Deviate Design en levensgrote prints van zeeschildpadden geprint door IGC, om zo nog meer mensen te inspireren om te zorgen voor de natuur en zeeschildpadden van Bonaire.’

Hoewel het bezoekerscentrum nog niet helemaal af is, is het kantoor geopend en kunt u tijdens werkuren STCB bezoeken om meer te leren over zeeschildpadden en het werk dat de stichting doet om deze dieren te beschermen. Kaj Schut: ‘We zijn op werkdagen geopend tussen 8:00 en 17:00. Echter, we hebben een klein team en wanneer we allemaal in het water zijn, om onderzoek uit te voeren, dan is het kantoor gesloten. Momenteel zijn we op zoek naar vrijwilligers die het leuk vinden om ons te assisteren in de shop met het delen van kennis en het verkopen van onze unieke merchandise. Indien u ons een paar uur per week wilt helpen, laat het ons dan weten!’

Bovendien vindt de presentatie (elke 2^e en 4^e woensdag van de maand om 20:00) nu ook plaats in het nieuwe kantoor.

Kralendijk,- In March of this year, Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire (STCB) moved to Kaya Aruba 4E, along the boulevard.

After many years on the Kaya Korona, the organization was given the opportunity to open their office and a small visitor center at Kaya Aruba, in the new Turtuga Building. This new location was made possible by very generous donations from Blue Jay BV and Stichting DierenLot.

‘We are very grateful to Blue Jay BV and Stichting DierenLot for donating the office space at Kaya Aruba to our organization’, said Kaj Schut, STCB’s Manager. ‘It’s a dream come true: we now have a beautiful educational center, with an informative wall created by Deviate Design and sea turtle cutouts printed by IGC, to inspire even more people to care for Bonaire’s nature and sea turtles.’

Although STCB is still completing the visitor center, their office is open and you are welcome to visit them during working hours to learn more about sea turtles and the work STCB does to protect this endangered species. Kaj Schut: ‘

We are open on working days between 8am and 5pm. However, we’re a small team and when we’re in the water, conducting research, our office is closed. We are currently looking for volunteers who’d enjoy assisting us in our visitor center, sharing sea turtle knowledge and selling our unique merchandise.
