NIEUWE LEDEN BENOEMD BIJ DE VOOGDIJRAAD CARIBISCH NEDERLAND

Kralendijk,- De minister van Justitie en Veiligheid heeft per 1 april 2025 twee nieuwe leden benoemd voor de Voogdijraad Caribisch Nederland. Mevrouw E. Nicolaas (Bonaire) en de heer A.D. Duinkerken (Saba) zijn inmiddels benoemd in hun onbezoldigde functie. De wervingsprocedure voor een lid uit Sint-Eustatius loopt nog.

De Voogdijraad CN bestaat uit drie leden. Elk lid vertegenwoordigt een van de drie eilanden Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba. Het bureau van de Voogdijraad legt periodiek verantwoording af aan de Voogdijraad en houdt hen op de hoogte van de voortgang. De medewerkers zetten zich dagelijks in voor de bescherming van kinderen en jongeren op Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba.

Onlangs heeft mevrouw A. Pourier-Beukenboom (Bonaire), voormalig voorzitter, haar taken met vertrouwen overgedragen aan de nieuwe leden. Daarmee draagt zij haar waardevolle kennis en ervaring over voor een soepele overgang.

Waarnemend directeur Voogdijraad CN, B. Kraaijeveld bedankt mevrouw Pourier-Beukenboom hartelijk voor haar jarenlange inzet:
“We zijn haar bijzonder dankbaar voor haar toegewijde bijdrage gedurende al deze jaren. Met de benoeming van mevrouw Nicolaas en de heer Duinkerken blijven we ons inzetten voor een optimale bescherming van kinderen en jongeren in Caribisch Nederland. We kijken uit naar een succesvolle samenwerking.”

Met deze nieuwe benoemingen blijft de Voogdijraad zich inzetten voor een veilige en kansrijke toekomst voor alle kinderen in Caribisch Nederland.

NEW MEMBERS APPOINTED TO THE GUARDIANSHIP COUNCIL OF THE CARIBBEAN NETHERLANDS

Kralendijk,- As of April 1^st, 2025, the Minister of Justice and Security has appointed two new members to the Guardianship Council of the Caribbean Netherlands. Ms. E. Nicolaas (from Bonaire) and Mr. A.D. Duinkerken (from Saba) have now been appointed to their unpaid roles. The selection process for a member from St. Eustatius is still ongoing.

The Guardianship Council CN has three members. Each member represents one of the three islands: Bonaire, St. Eustatius, and Saba. The office of the Guardianship Council reports regularly to the Council and keeps them informed of the progress. Every day, the office works to protect children and young people on Bonaire, St. Eustatius, and Saba.

Recently, Ms. A. Pourier-Beukenboom (from Bonaire), the former chairperson, handed over her tasks with confidence to the new members. In doing so, she also passed on her valuable knowledge and experience for a smooth transition.

Acting director Guardianship Council CN, B. Kraaijeveld warmly thanked Ms. Pourier-Beukenboom for her years of work:

“We are very grateful for her dedicated efforts over all these years. With the appointment of Ms. Nicolaas and Mr. Duinkerken, we continue to work for the best protection of children and young people in the Caribbean Netherlands. We look forward to a successful cooperation.”

With these new appointments, the Guardianship Council remains committed to a safe and hopeful future for all children in the Caribbean Netherlands.
