HET KORPS POLITIE CARIBISCH NEDERLAND ONTHULT NIEUW LOGO EN VISUELE IDENTITEIT

Kralendijk,- Het Korps Politie Caribisch Nederland (KPCN) heeft vandaag, 10 oktober 2025 tijdens een ceremoniële bijeenkomst haar nieuwe logo en visuele identiteit onthuld. De onthulling vond plaats in het kader van de viering van het 15-jarig bestaan van KPCN, een betekenisvol moment in de geschiedenis van het korps.

Met de nieuwe identiteit markeert KPCN een belangrijke stap in haar ontwikkeling als moderne, professionele en verbonden organisatie. De vernieuwing is het resultaat van ruim een jaar van gesprekken, onderzoek en samenwerking met collega’s, ketenpartners en leden van de gemeenschap op alle drie de eilanden.

De vernieuwde identiteit weerspiegelt de kernwaarden van het korps: veiligheid, rechtvaardigheid en dienstbaarheid. Daarbij zijn vertrouwde symbolen als het schild, het zwaard, de drie sterren en de bladeren behouden. Nu in een eigentijdse vorm die past bij de groei en professionalisering van het korps.

Korpschef Alwyn Braaf sprak tijdens de ceremonie over de betekenis van dit moment:

“We eren ons verleden. We erkennen het fundament dat is gelegd in de tijd van het Korps Politie Nederlandse Antillen, waaruit wij zijn voortgekomen. De waarden van rechtvaardigheid, gezag, en orde die toen golden, blijven ook vandaag ons kompas. We dragen dat erfgoed met trots. Niet als iets van vroeger, maar als een levend onderdeel van wie wij zijn – de weerspiegeling van deze basis zult u ongetwijfeld zien in de onthulling van vandaag.

Tegelijkertijd beseffen we dat onze identiteit zich heeft ontwikkeld. De samenleving om ons heen is veranderd. Onze eilanden zijn veranderd. En wij zijn meegegroeid als politie, als mensen, en als onderdeel van een bredere gemeenschap.”

De plechtigheid vond gelijktijdig plaats op de politiebureaus van Bonaire, Saba en Sint Eustatius. In het bijzijn van collega’s en ketenpartners werd het nieuwe logo onthuld, gevolgd door het zegenen ervan en het hijsen van de nieuwe korpsvlag. De ceremonie werd live gedeeld tussen de drie eilanden, zodat alle collega’s dit historische moment konden meebeleven.

KPCN spreekt zijn dank uit aan alle medewerkers, ketenpartners en leden van de gemeenschap die hun stem en inzichten hebben gedeeld tijdens dit traject.

THE CARIBBEAN NETHERLANDS POLICE FORCE UNVEILS NEW LOGO AND VISUAL IDENTITY

Kralendijk,- Today, October 10, 2025, the Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN) unveiled its new logo and visual identity during a ceremonial gathering.

The unveiling took place as part of the celebration of the KPCN’s 15th anniversary, a significant moment in the history of the force.

With its new identity, KPCN marks an important step in its development as a modern, professional, and connected organization.

The renewal is the result of more than a year of discussions, research, and collaboration with colleagues, chain partners, and members of the community on all three islands.

The renewed identity reflects the core values of the force: safety, justice, and service. Familiar symbols such as the shield, the sword, the three stars, and the leaves have been retained, now in a contemporary form that reflects the growth and professionalization of the force.

During the ceremony, Chief of Police Alwyn Braaf spoke about the significance of this moment:

“We honor our past. We recognize the foundation laid during the time of the Netherlands Antilles Police Force, from which we emerged. The values of justice, authority, and order that applied then remain our compass today. We carry that heritage with pride. Not as something from the past, but as a living part of who we are—you will undoubtedly see the reflection of this foundation in today’s unveiling.

At the same time, we realize that our identity has evolved. The society around us has changed. Our islands have changed. And we have grown as a police force, as people, and as part of a broader community.” The ceremony took place simultaneously at the police stations of Bonaire, Saba, and Sint Eustatius. In the presence of colleagues and chain partners, the new logo was unveiled, followed by its blessing and the

raising of the new police force flag. The ceremony was shared live between the three islands so that all colleagues could experience this historic moment.
