MARCEL VAN GAALEN EN RICHARD RUITER HEBBEN SAMEN MET FRANK EN MARISSA VAN DER HEIJDEN ERKENNING GEKREGEN ALS AMBASSADEURS VAN BONAIRE

Kralendijk,- Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) heeft aan nog vier bezoekers erkenning gegeven als ambassadeurs van Bonaire in de maand oktober.

Het gaat hier om Frank en Marissa van der Heijden uit Nederland die geëerd werden voor hun 12 jaar bezoek aan Bonaire. Het echtpaar bezoekt Bonaire sinds 2012. ‘Wat ons het meest aantrekt aan Bonaire is de cultuur van het eiland en de vriendelijke mensen. Ook het ‘krioyo’ eten van Bonaire vinden wij fantastisch en de vele duikplekken die het eiland te bieden heeft,’ aldus Frank en Marissa van der Heijden.

Marcel van Gaalen, eveneens afkomstig uit Nederland, werd gehuldigd voor 15 jaar bezoek aan Bonaire. Marcel vertelt: ‘Mijn liefde voor Bonaire is in 2011 begonnen, toen een goede vriend naar dit eiland verhuisde. Wij hadden toen afgesproken dat wij elkaar minstens één keer per jaar in Nederland zouden ontmoeten om samen een biertje te drinken. Dit is een traditie geworden waar wij ons tot op de dag van vandaag nog aan houden, maar nu op ‘Dushi Boneiru’.’ Marcel heeft een zilveren speld gekregen voor de 15 jaar die hij Bonaire bezoekt.

Ook Richard Reiter uit de Verenigde Staten werd gehuldigd. Richard bezoekt Bonaire al 40 jaar. Richard geeft leiding aan een duikersgroep die uit tandartsen bestaat. Dit doet hij al zeker 30 jaar. Met het verstrijken van de jaren heeft de groep bij verschillende accomodaties gelogeerd op Bonaire. ‘Ik kan me herinneren dat ik in 1985 gecertificeerd werd bij het vroegere Bonaire Beach Hotel, dat tegenwoordig niet meer bestaat,’ aldus Richard, die elk jaar naar Bonaire komt. Bij deze gelegenheid werd een plaquette overhandigd aan Richard Reiter.  

   

Namens het management heeft Helen Mercera de certificaten, spelden en plaquettes overhandigd aan alle bezoekers die erkenning hebben gekregen.

Kralendijk,- Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) has recognized four more visitors as Bonaire Ambassadors for October.

This includes Frank and Marissa van der Heijden from the Netherlands, who were honored for visiting Bonaire over the past 12 years. The couple has been visiting Bonaire since 2012. “What attracts us most to Bonaire is the island’s culture and the friendly people.

We also love Bonaire’s krioyo (local) food and the many diving spots the island offers,” said Frank and Marissa van der Heijden.

Marcel van Gaalen, also from the Netherlands, was honored for 15 years of visiting Bonaire. Marcel shared: “My love for Bonaire began in 2011 when a good friend moved to the island. We agreed to meet at least once a year in the Netherlands to have a beer together. This became a tradition we still maintain to this day, but now on ‘Dushi Boneiru’.” Marcel received a silver pin to commemorate his 15 years of visiting the island.

Richard Reiter from the United States was also honored. Richard has been visiting Bonaire for 40 years and has led a group of divers made up of dentists for at least 30 of those years. Over the years, the group has stayed at various accommodations around the island.

“I remember getting certified in 1985 at the old Bonaire Beach Hotel, which no longer exists,” said Richard, who continues to visit the island every year. On this occasion, a plaque was presented to Richard Reiter.

On behalf of the management, Helen Mercera presented the certificates, pins, and plaques to all the visitors who received recognition.
