WEB VOERT PREVENTIEVE INSPECTIEWERKZAAMHEDEN UIT AAN ELEKTRICITEITS NETWERK.

Kralendijk,,- Water- en Energiebedrijf Bonaire (WEB) voert van vrijdag 7 februari tot en met zondag 9 februari diverse inspectie- en reparatiewerkzaamheden uit aan ondergrondse elektriciteitskabels op verschillende locaties.

Deze werkzaamheden zijn gericht op het verbeteren van de betrouwbaarheid en efficiëntie van het elektriciteitsnet. Naar aanleiding van recente storingen heeft WEB een voorlopig forensisch onderzoek laten uitvoeren.

Hieruit is gebleken dat aanvullend onderzoek naar de kabels die eind jaren 2000 zijn geïnstalleerd noodzakelijk is. Om belangrijke onderdelen van deze kabels te kunnen inspecteren, is WEB genoodzaakt enkele verbindingen tijdelijk gecontroleerd uit te schakelen.

Daarnaast zal WEB een geavanceerd systeem, de ‘Smart Cable Guard’, installeren om de conditie van de kabels continu te bewaken. Ook worden temperatuursensoren geplaatst die waardevolle data leveren over de conditie van de verbinding. Deze maatregelen dragen bij aan een stabieler en energie-efficiënter netwerk. Om de bovengenoemde werkzaamheden te realiseren, heeft

WEB[1]werkzaamheden gepland om één circuit uit te schakelen in de nacht van vrijdag 7 op zaterdag 8 februari en een ander circuit in de nacht van zaterdag 8 op zondag 9 februari. Hierdoor zal steeds één van de twee verbindingen in bedrijf zijn. Hoewel WEB verwacht dat deze werkzaamheden geen invloed hebben op de stroomvoorziening van klanten, bestaat er een kleine kans op een onderbreking. Om de impact voor klanten zoveel mogelijk te beperken, worden de werkzaamheden uitgevoerd tussen 23:00 en 09:00 uur. De werkzaamheden vinden uitsluitend plaats aan ondergrondse kabels ter hoogte van Kaya Korona. WEB verzoekt weggebruikers daarom rekening te houden met mogelijke activiteiten langs de weg.
