| ORANJESTAD – Het Korps Politie Caribisch Nederland (KPCN) introduceert een nieuwe wijkagent op Sint Eustatius. Rexcarlos Courtar is de nieuwe wijkagent van Sint Eustatius. Courtar werkt al 17 jaar bij de politie en was bijna 3 jaar actief als wijkagent op Saba. In die periode heeft hij zich ingezet voor de veiligheid en leefbaarheid op het eiland en nauw samengewerkt met bewoners en lokale partners. Met zijn overstap naar Sint Eustatius keert Courtar terug naar zijn geboorte eiland. Hier zal hij zijn ervaring als wijkagent inzetten en zich richten op de samenwerking met inwoners, ondernemers, scholen en andere partners op het eiland. Courtar neemt de werkzaamheden over van Franciscus Nous, die de afgelopen jaren de wijkagent was. Hij neemt zijn nieuwe rol met enthousiasme op zich en kijkt ernaar uit om zich samen met de gemeenschap en partners in te zetten voor een veilig Sint Eustatius. “Ik heb de afgelopen jaren met ontzettend veel plezier op Saba gewerkt en ben de gemeenschap, partners en collega’s daar erg dankbaar voor de fijne samenwerking. Tegelijkertijd is het een eer om terug te keren naar huis. Ik kijk ernaar uit om mijn ervaring in te zetten voor mijn eiland en samen te werken aan een veilige en prettige leefomgeving. Hierbij wil ik bouwen aan sterke werkrelaties met onze partners, om zo Sint Eustatius samen verder vooruit te helpen,” aldus Courtar. Kennismaken met de wijkagent In de komende periode zal Courtar zich actief voorstellen aan de gemeenschap en lokale partners op Sint Eustatius. Bewoners kunnen contact opnemen met de wijkagent bij niet-spoedeisende zaken, vragen over veiligheid in hun omgeving of om signalen te delen die kunnen bijdragen aan de veiligheid op het eiland. Het KPCN bedankt Rexcarlos Courtar voor zijn inzet op Saba en wenst hem veel succes in zijn nieuwe rol op Sint Eustatius. Rexcarlos Courtar is the new community police officer for Sint Eustatius. Courtar has worked with the police for 17 years and spent almost 3 years serving as a community police officer on Saba. During this period, he dedicated himself to the safety and quality of life on the island and worked closely with residents and local partners. With his transfer to Sint Eustatius, Courtar is returning to his home island. Here, he will use his experience as a community police officer and focus on working together with residents, businesses, schools, and other partners on the island. Courtar will take over the duties of Franciscus Nous, who was the community officer for the past few years. He takes on his new role with enthusiasm and looks forward to working together with the community and partners to help keep Sint Eustatius safe. “I have thoroughly enjoyed working on Saba over the past few years and I am very grateful to the community, partners, and colleagues there for the pleasant cooperation. At the same time, it is an honor to return home. I look forward to using my experience for my island and working together to create a safe and pleasant living environment. I want to build strong working relationships with our partners so that, together, we can continue moving Sint Eustatius forward,” said Courtar. Meet the community police officer In the coming period, Courtar will actively introduce himself to the community and local partners on Sint Eustatius. Residents can contact the community police officer regarding non-emergency matters, questions about safety in their area, or to share information that may contribute to safety on the island.
