TOURISM CORPORATION BONAIRE ONDERTEKENT MOU MET JONGE BONAIREAANSE DUIKER ISABEL ARANGO
Kralendijk,- Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) is blij de ondertekening aan te kondigen van een Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) met de 18-jarige Bonaireaanse duiker Isabel Arango voor 2026.
Isabel, geboren en getogen op Bonaire, maakte haar eerste duik toen ze nog maar acht jaar oud was en heeft sindsdien meer dan 120 duiken op haar naam staan. Haar passie voor duiken blijft groeien, evenals haar interesse in presenteren en verhalen vertellen.
Door middel van deze samenwerking zal TCB Isabel ondersteunen bij haar verdere ontwikkeling als jonge duiker en bij haar inspanningen om anderen, met name jongeren, te inspireren om de onderwaterwereld te ontdekken. Als onderdeel van deze samenwerking zal Isabel later dit jaar deelnemen aan Diving Talks in Portugal, waar ze de kans krijgt om haar ervaringen en haar reis als jonge duiker uit Bonaire te delen.
“Isabel is een fantastisch voorbeeld van het jonge lokale talent dat Bonaire te bieden heeft. Wij zijn blij dat wij haar ontwikkeling kunnen ondersteunen en haar de kans kunnen bieden om haar passie voor duiken te delen en Bonaire internationaal te vertegenwoordigen”, aldus Elesiër Angel, directeur van Tourism Corporation Bonaire.
Voor Isabel gaat duiken om meer dan alleen het verkennen van de onderwaterwereld. Ze hoopt jongeren te laten zien dat er binnen deze sport vele mogelijkheden zijn om te ontdekken en hen te inspireren om de eerste stap daartoe te zetten.
“Ik wil blijven groeien als duiker en tegelijkertijd andere jongeren inspireren om te ontdekken wat er onder water te vinden is en de kansen te zien die duiken te bieden heeft”, vertelt Isabel.
Deze samenwerking maakt deel uit van de voortdurende inspanningen van TCB om lokaal talent te ondersteunen en kansen te creëren voor jonge Bonaireanen om hun vaardigheden te ontwikkelen en het eiland op een internationaal podium te vertegenwoordigen.

Kralendijk,- Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 18-year-old Bonaire-born diver Isabel Arango for 2026.
Born and raised on Bonaire, Isabel completed her first dive at just eight years old and has since logged more than 120 dives. Her passion for diving continues to grow, alongside her interest in presenting and storytelling.
Through the partnership, TCB will support Isabel in her continued development as a young diver and in her efforts to inspire others, particularly youth, to discover the underwater world. As part of the collaboration, Isabel will participate in Diving Talks in Portugal later this year, where she will have the opportunity to share her experience and journey as a young diver from Bonaire.
“Isabel is a great example of the young local talent that Bonaire has to offer. We are happy to support her development and provide her with opportunities to share her passion for diving and represent Bonaire internationally,” said Elesiër Angel, CEO of Tourism Corporation Bonaire.
For Isabel, diving is about more than exploring beneath the surface. She hopes to show young people that there are many paths to discover within the sport and inspire them to take the first step.
“I want to continue growing as a diver while inspiring other young people to discover what lies beneath the surface and see the opportunities that diving can offer,” Isabel shared.
The collaboration forms part of TCB’s continued efforts to support local talent and create opportunities for young Bonaireans to develop their skills and represent the island on an international stage.
