CARIBISCHE GULDEN FINALIST BIJ PRESTIGIEUZE INTERNATIONALE PRIJS
Willemstad/Philipsburg – De Caribische gulden muntenserie is op 28 mei 2025 als finalist geëindigd bij de toekenning van de Excellence in Currency Award 2025.
Deze jaarlijkse prijs wordt uitgereikt door de International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA) en erkent organisaties die uitmuntendheid tonen in de productie, verwerking, het beheer en de distributie van bankbiljetten en munten.
De Caribische gulden muntenserie was genomineerd in de categorie Best New Coin/Coin Series. De 2 euromunt ter gelegenheid van de Olympische Spelen Parijs 2024 is als winnaar uit de bus gekomen. De derde finalist in deze categorie was de Fourth Decimal Coin Series van Zuid-Afrika.
De prijsuitreiking vond plaats tijdens de internationale Currency Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, waar meer dan 400 professionals uit de wereldwijde valuta-industrie bijeenkwamen. IACA is een onafhankelijke, non-profit ledenorganisatie, opgericht in 2004, die zich richt op het bevorderen van excellentie in de geldcyclus.
De organisatie biedt een platform voor kennisdeling en samenwerking over strategisch belangrijke thema’s binnen de valuta-industrie. Leden van IACA zijn onder meer centrale banken, uitgevende autoriteiten, en leveranciers van munten en bankbiljetten, evenals financiële instellingen wereldwijd.
De benoeming tot finalist is een eervolle erkenning voor Curaçao en Sint Maarten en onderstreept de samenwerking en toewijding die aan de ontwikkeling van de Caribische gulden muntenserie ten grondslag liggen.

Willemstad/Philipsburg—On May 28, 2025, the Caribbean guilder coin series was selected as a finalist for the 2025 Excellence in Currency Award.
The International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA) presents this annual award to organizations that exemplify outstanding achievement in the production, processing, management, and distribution of banknotes and coins.
The Caribbean guilder coin series was nominated in the category of Best New Coin/Coin Series. The winning entry was the €2 commemorative coin issued for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, while South Africa’s Fourth Decimal Coin Series was the third finalist.
The awards ceremony was held at the International Currency Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, which brought together more than 400 professionals from the global currency industry. The IACA is an independent, non-profit membership organization founded in 2004, that is dedicated to promoting excellence in the currency cycle.
It provides a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration on strategically important topics within the currency industry. Its members include central banks, issuing authorities, coin and banknote suppliers, and financial institutions worldwide.
Being named a finalist is a meaningful recognition for Curaçao and Sint Maarten and reflects the collaboration and commitment that shaped the development of the Caribbean guilder coin series.
