BOKSERS VAN BONAIRE BLINKEN UIT OP INTERNATIONAAL NIVEAU IN ARUBA

Kralendijk – Op vrijdag 4 april hebben drie boksers van Bonaire een indrukwekkende prestatie geleverd tijdens de internationale bokswedstrijd Fire to the Ring in Aruba.

Het team van de Bonaire Boxing Federation (BBF) keerde huiswaarts met trots, dankzij de sterke prestaties van hun atleten.

De 18-jarige Ricardi Muñoz bewees zijn talent door zijn partij overtuigend te winnen. Deze overwinning betekent niet alleen een persoonlijke mijlpaal voor Muñoz, maar bevestigt ook de kracht van de bokssport op Bonaire.

Het was al de tweede keer dat Bonaire de overwinning tegen Aruba behaalde, aangezien het eiland ook vorig jaar als winnaar uit de bus kwam.

Split decisions
Dylan Sint Jago, de 15-jarige debutant, streed moedig tegen zijn tegenstander uit Colombia maar twee van de drie juryleden oordeelden in het voordeel van zijn tegenstander, een zogeheten ‘split decision’. Het was zijn eerste officiële wedstrijd en ondanks de zware tegenstand, leerde Dylan veel van deze ervaring en heeft hij zich goed gepresenteerd.

Kevin Scharbaai (28), die na vijf jaar van afwezigheid afgelopen vrijdag weer voor het eerst in de ring stond, vocht eveneens tegen een Colombiaanse bokser. Kevin, die in Aruba zijn comeback maakte, verloor net als Dylan op een split decision, maar toonde dat hij ondanks zijn lange pauze nog steeds van topniveau is.

De prestaties van deze drie boksers zijn een bewijs van hun harde werk en toewijding aan de sport. Wij van Bonaire Boxing Federation zijn bijzonder trots op hun inzet en de resultaten die ze hebben behaald op dit prestigieuze boks evenement.

BONAIRE BOXERS EXCEL AT INTERNATIONAL LEVEL IN ARUBA

Kralendijk – On Friday, April 4, three boxers from Bonaire delivered an impressive performance at the international boxing competition Fire to the Ring in Aruba. The Bonaire Boxing Federation (BBF) team returned home with pride, thanks to the strong performance of their athletes.

18-year-old Ricardi Muñoz proved his talent by winning his match convincingly. This victory not only marks a personal milestone for Muñoz but also confirms the strength of the sport of boxing on Bonaire. It was already the second time Bonaire won against Aruba, as the island also emerged victorious last year.

Split decisions
Dylan Sint Jago, the 15-year-old rookie, fought courageously against his opponent from Colombia but two of the three judges ruled in his opponent’s favor, a so-called split decision. It was his first official match and despite the tough opposition, Dylan learned a lot from this experience and presented himself well. Kevin Scharbaai (28), who returned to the ring for the first time last Friday after a five-year absence, also fought a Colombian boxer.

Kevin, who made his comeback in Aruba, lost like Dylan on a split decision, but showed that he is still top level despite his long break.
