ROTARALLY WEDEROM ZEER GESLAAGD.
Kralendijk,- De Rotarally is al meer dan 20 jaar een traditie op Bonaire. Op zondag 8 december organiseerde de Rotary Club Bonaire weer haar jaarlijkse Rotarally.
De Rotarally is ieder jaar een uitdagende puzzelrit die dit jaar vier trajecten kende. Zowel de organisatoren als de deelnemers kijken na afloop terug op een zeer geslaagde dag.
Ondanks een korte pr-periode verschenen er meer dan 140 deelnemers verdeeld over 49 auto’s aan de start bij sportcomplex Jorge Nicolaas. Het eerste team vertrok volgens planning precies om een minuut over negen. Dankzij de strakke organisatie vertrok het laatste team om tien voor tien.
De teams hadden het niet makkelijk op het eerste traject dat voor het beste team eindigde na een uur en drie kwartier op Te Amo Beach. Daar werd een eenvoudige lunch geserveerd tijdens een half uur verplichte pauze.
Daarna vertrokken de teams voor de laatste drie trajecten, die ook niet makkelijk bleken te zijn. Toch waren de meeste teams rond drie uur weer terug op Te Amo waar de bar en de keuken inmiddels geopend waren. Voor nagenoeg iedereen aanleiding om nog lang te genieten van de gezellige sfeer en te blijven. “Het was weer heel leuk om mee te doen.” was de reactie van veel deelnemers. “Volgend jaar weer!” En: “Na al die jaren op het eiland, kom ik met de rally op plekken waar ik nog nooit geweest ben.
”
Nadat het laatste team binnenkwam, werden de punten geteld en de prijzen uitgereikt aan de winnende teams:

De Rotarally is jaarlijks de eerste grote fondswervingsactie van de RCB. De opbrengst is bestemd voor maatschappelijke doelen op Bonaire. In het Rotary jaar 2023-2024 werden aanvragen voor donaties voor 11 maatschappelijke doelen gehonoreerd.

ROTARALLY VERY SUCCESSFUL ONCE AGAIN.
Kralendijk,- The Rotarally has been a tradition on Bonaire for more than 20 years. On Sunday, December 8, the Rotary Club Bonaire organized its annual Rotarally again.
Every year the Rotarally is a challenging puzzle ride that this year had four stages. Both organizers and participants look back on a very successful day.
Despite a short PR period, more than 140 participants divided into 49 cars appeared at the start at sports complex Jorge Nicolaas. The first team left on schedule exactly at one minute past nine a.m. Thanks to the tight organization, the last team left at ten to ten.
The teams did not have it easy on the first leg which, for the best team, ended after an hour and three quarters at Te Amo Beach. There a simple lunch was served during a half-hour mandatory break. Then the teams left for the last three stretches, which also proved not easy.
Still, most teams were back at Te Amo around three o’clock, where the bar and kitchen were now open. Almost everyone stayed to enjoy the cozy atmosphere and stay for a long time. “It was great fun to participate again!” was the reaction of many participants. “Next year again!” And: “After all these years on the island, the rally takes me to places I’ve never been before.”
After the last team came in, the points were scored and prizes were awarded to the winning teams:

The Rotarally is annually the RCB’s first major fundraising event. The proceeds are earmarked for social causes on Bonaire. In the Rotary year 2023-2024, requests for donations for 11 social causes were honored.
