JOCELYN LEVENSTONE IS BEËDIGD ALS GEZAGHEBBER VAN SABA

The Bottom,- Op voordracht van de Staatsecretaris van Koninkrijksrelaties en Slagvaardige Overheid is Jocelyn Levenstone per 1 juli 2026 benoemd als gezaghebber van openbaar lichaam Saba.

Waarnemend Rijksvertegenwoordiger (wRv) Jan Helmond heeft hem op 9 juli beëdigd tijdens een ceremonie van de Eilandsraad. Met deze benoeming krijgt Saba voor het eerst in 18 jaar een nieuwe gezaghebber.

“Tijdens de sollicitatiegesprekken met Jocelyn heeft hij indruk op mij gemaakt. Hij acht integriteit en zuiverheid van handelen als belangrijke kenmerken van zijn professionele en persoonlijke optreden. In de uitoefening van de functie van gezaghebber zullen deze kenmerken zeker van pas komen.” – wRv Jan Helmond.

Aansluitend was er gelegenheid voor de inwoners van Saba om de gezaghebber te feliciteren.

JOCELYN LEVENSTONE SWORN IN AS ISLAND GOVERNOR OF SABA

The Bottom,- On the recommendation of the State Secretary for Kingdom Relations and Effective Government, Jocelyn Levenstone has been appointed Island Governor of the public entity Saba effective July 1, 2026.

Acting Kingdom Representative (wRv) Jan Helmond swore him in on July 9 during a ceremony of the Island Council. With this appointment, Saba gets a new Island Governor for the first time in 18 years.

“During the interviews with Jocelyn, he impressed me. He considers integrity and purity of conduct to be important characteristics of his professional and personal demeanor. These characteristics will certainly come in handy in the exercise of the function of Island Governor.” – wRv Jan Helmond.

Subsequently, there was an opportunity for the residents of Saba to congratulate the Governor.
