GESLAAGDE FAMILIEDAG ROTARY CLUB BONAIRE MET BIJZONDERE EXTRA’S.
Kralendijk,- Op zaterdag 27 juni kwamen de leden van de Rotary Club Bonaire naar de inheemse tuin van Terra Barra voor de jaarlijkse familiedag. De keuze voor Terra Barra bleek een schot in de roos. Oprichter Johan van Blerk vertelde enthousiast ver de ontwikkelingen sinds het laatste bezoek van de Rotary Club aan de heemtuin. En tijdens de rondleiding kregen twee leden van het gezelschap bovendien de mogelijkheid om bomen te planten.
De kinderen lieten zien dat ze zich ook zonder beeldscherm uitstekend konden vermaken. Het terrein nodigde uit tot creatieve spelletjes en een voetbal deed de rest. De ouders hadden er geen kind aan.
Voorzitter Barbara Griot maakte de familiedag extra bijzonder met de installatie van Andrea Goitia als nieuw lid van de club. Als klap op de vuurpijl werden Jonathan Croes en John Flipse geïnstalleerd als lid van het bestuur 2026 – 2027. Jonathan wordt inkomend voorzitter en John wordt penningmeester van de club.
Na de gebruikelijke felicitaties bleef het nog lang gezellig op Terra Barra, niet in het minst dankzij de uitstekende catering van Wines & More.

A SUCCESSFUL FAMILY DAY FOR THE ROTARY CLUB OF BONAIRE WITH SPECIAL EXTRAS.
Kralendijk,- On Saturday, June 27, members of the Rotary Club of Bonaire gathered at Terra Barra’s native garden for their annual family day. Choosing Terra Barra turned out to be a great success. Founder Johan van Blerk enthusiastically described the developments that had taken place since the Rotary Club’s last visit to the garden. And during the tour, two members of the group also had the opportunity to plant trees.
The children showed that they could have a great time even without screens. The grounds were perfect for creative games, and a soccer ball did the rest. The parents could relax.
President Barbara Griot made the family day extra special by inducting Andrea Goitia as a new member of the club. To top it all off, Jonathan Croes and John Flipse were inducted as members of the 2026–2027 board. Jonathan will be the incoming president and John will be the club’s treasurer.
After the customary congratulations, the festive atmosphere lingered for a long time at Terra Barra, thanks in no small part to the excellent catering provided by Wines & More.
