Kralendijk,-Op zondag 7 juni 2026 reist het Bonairiaanse radiografisch bestuurbare (RC-)racetalent Ethuriel Nicolaas af naar Curaçao voor de start van het nieuwe raceseizoen. Nicolaas zal daar aan de start verschijnen van ‘Kareda #1’, de openingsrace van het kampioenschap voor elektrische on-road toerwagens op schaal 1:10. Het felbegeerde evenement wordt georganiseerd door de Curaçao Radio Control Cars Drivers Association (CRCCDA) op de bekende CAS Grandi Raceway.

Ethuriel Nicolaas zal Bonaire vertegenwoordigen in de competitieve 21.5T Stock Class, een raceklasse waarin het uiterste wordt gevraagd van zowel de stuurmanskunsten van de coureur als de technische afstelling van de auto. Nicolaas verschijnt aan de start met de high-end Xray X4, een van de meest geavanceerde wedstrijdchassis ter wereld.

“De concurrentie op Curaçao is altijd ijzersterk, maar met de Xray X4 beschikken we over een uitstekend platform,” laat het team rondom Nicolaas weten. “De focus tijdens de vrije trainingen ligt direct op het vinden van de juiste balans en grip op het asfalt van CAS Grandi. Het doel is simpel: meestrijden om de podiumplaatsen en Bonaire trots maken.”

Het evenement

De racedag op zondag 7 juni begint om 10.30 uur met de kwalificaties, waarna in de middag de spannende finales worden verreden. De actie duurt naar verwachting tot ongeveer 17.00 uur. Naast de 21.5T Stock Class debuteert dit weekend ook de gloednieuwe 17.5T FWD Stock Class, wat gegarandeerd voor extra spektakel op de baan zal zorgen.

De CRCCDA nodigt alle racefans en supporters uit om de coureurs aan te moedigen bij het Sport Complex CAS Grandi, gelegen achter de voormalige locatie van HIT 100.3 FM.

Nicolaas will compete in Kareda #1, the first race of the 1/10-scale Electric On-Road Touring Car Championship. The highly anticipated event is organized by the Curaçao Radio Control Cars Drivers Association (CRCCDA) at the renowned CAS Grandi Raceway.

Ethuriel Nicolaas will represent Bonaire in the highly competitive 21.5T Stock Class, a category that demands exceptional driving precision and meticulous vehicle setup. Nicolaas will take to the track with the advanced Xray X4 chassis, widely regarded as one of the most competitive and technologically advanced touring car platforms in the world today.

Event Schedule
