CBP BES START TOEZICHT OP NALEVING VAN PRIVACYVERKLARING BIJ IND
De Commissie Toezicht Bescherming Persoonsgegevens BES (CBP BES) is recent gestart met een programmatisch toezicht naar de naleving van de privacyverklaring bij de Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND).
De afgelopen twee jaar heeft CBP BES binnen organisaties op Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba aandacht gevraagd voor het belang van een duidelijke privacyverklaring.
Met haar toezicht op de adequate implementatie van de privacyverklaring gaat CBP BES een stap verder en toetst of organisaties ook daadwerkelijk werken volgens wat zij in hun privacyverklaring hebben opgenomen.
Het toezicht bij de IND is de eerste stap binnen een bredere inzet van CBP BES. De commissie beoordeelt hoe organisaties omgaan met persoonsgegevens en of zij voldoen aan de wettelijke eisen.
“Het is belangrijk dat mensen erop kunnen vertrouwen dat hun persoonsgegevens zorgvuldig worden behandeld,” zegt het diensthoofd van CBP BES. “Daarom controleren wij actief of organisaties doen wat zij in hun privacyverklaring aangeven.”

CBP BES STARTS SUPERVISION OF COMPLIANCE WITH PRIVACY STATEMENT AT IND
Kralendijk,- The Commission Supervision Personal Data Protection BES (CBP BES) has recently started programmatic supervision to monitor compliance with the privacy statement at the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND).
Over the past two years, CBP BES has drawn attention within organizations on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba to the importance of having a clear privacy statement. Through its supervision of the proper implementation of such statements, CBP BES is taking a further step by assessing whether organizations operate in accordance with what they have included in their privacy statement.
The supervision of the IND marks the first step in a broader effort by CBP BES. The committee assesses how organizations handle personal data and whether they comply with legal requirements.
“It is important that people can trust that their personal data is handled with care,” says the head of CBP BES. “That is why we actively verify whether organizations do what they state in their privacy statement.”
