THEMAWEEK DATA-VIBES MAAKT CIJFERS OVER JONGEREN ZICHTBAAR

Kralendijk,- Van 2 tot en met 6 maart organiseert het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) de themaweek Data-Vibes. Data en cijfers klinken misschien abstract of saai.

Maar wat als ze over jongeren op Bonaire gaan? Over hun gezondheid, vrijetijdsbesteding, toekomstplannen, opleiding of inkomen? Tijdens deze week maakt het CBS data zichtbaar, bespreekbaar en relevant voor jongeren en hun omgeving.

De themaweek is speciaal gericht op jongeren tussen 12 en 16 jaar en vindt plaats in de Biblioteka Públiko Boneiru. Jongeren kunnen deelnemen aan interactieve workshops op 3 en 5 maart. Daarnaast kunnen zij in gesprek gaan met CBS-medewerkers en ontdekken wat cijfers zeggen over het leven van jongeren op Bonaire. Tijdens de week worden onder andere cijfers gedeeld over hoe jongeren hun vrije tijd besteden en hoe zij naar hun toekomst kijken.

Met deze week wil het CBS laten zien dat data geen spreadsheets zijn, maar verhalen. Verhalen die helpen om betere keuzes te maken.  Op school, in beleid en persoonlijk.

Het CBS nodigt jong en oud van harte uit om langs te komen bij de Biblioteka Públiko Boneiru en te ontdekken wat cijfers vertellen over jongeren op Bonaire.

DATA-VIBES THEME WEEK MAKES YOUNG PEOPLE’S FIGURES VISIBLE

Kralendijk,- From March 2nd to 6th, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) is organizing Data-Vibes Theme Week. Data and figures may sound abstract or boring.

But what if they were about young people on Bonaire? About their health, leisure activities and, future plans? During this week, CBS makes data visible, discussable, and relevant for young people and their communities.

The theme week is specifically aimed at young people between the ages of 12 and 16 and will take place at the Biblioteka Públiko Boneiru. Young people can participate in interactive workshops on March 3rd and 5th. They can also talk with CBS staff and discover what data reveals about the lives of young people on Bonaire. During the week, figures will be shared about how young people spend their free time and how they view their future, among other things.

With this week, CBS wants to show that data aren’t spreadsheets, but stories. Stories that help people make better choices, at school, in policy, and personally.

Statistics Netherlands (CBS) cordially invites all ages to visit the Public Library of Bonaire and discover what statistics reveal about young people on Bonaire.
