CBS VAN START MET HET ARBEIDSKRACHTENONDERZOEK OP BONAIRE, SINT-EUSTATIUS EN SABA

• Tussen september 2026 en december 2026 zullen interviewers van het Centraal
• Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) op Bonaire, Sint-Eustatius en Saba op pad gaan om aselect
• gekozen huishoudens te bezoeken voor het Arbeidskrachtenonderzoek (AKO).

Het Arbeidskrachtenonderzoek is een steekproefonderzoek onder huishoudens dat het CBS om de twee jaar uitvoert. Met het onderzoek meet het CBS de ontwikkelingen op de arbeidsmarkt in Caribisch Nederland. Eén van de belangrijkste gegevens uit het AKO is het werkloosheidspercentage. Dit percentage geeft aan welk deel van de beroepsbevolking op zoek is naar werk. Andere belangrijke gegevens zijn de arbeidsparticipatie, maar ook gegevens over bijvoorbeeld het opleidingsniveau, beroep en arbeidsduur.

Om beter inzicht te krijgen in de arbeidsmarktgegevens, vraagt het CBS de medewerking van alle huishoudens die deel uitmaken van de steekproef. Op Bonaire zullen 1233 huishoudens benaderd worden, op Sint-Eustatius 578 en op Saba 571.

Het CBS is wettelijk verplicht om alle verzamelde gegevens strikt vertrouwelijk te behandelen. Hierbij heeft het CBS verschillende maatregelen getroffen om  de verzamelde gegevens te beschermen. Alle interviewers zijn in het bezit van een legitimatiebewijs van het CBS. Op verzoek moet de interviewer zich kunnen identificeren, zodat iedereen er zeker van kan zijn dat de gegevens door het CBS wordt verzameld. Het CBS levert nooit herkenbare gegevens aan derden, ook niet aan andere overheidsinstellingen.

CBS STARTS LABOUR FORCE SURVEY ON BONAIRE, ST EUSTATIUS AND SABA

Between September 2026 and December 2026, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) will conduct the Labour force survey on Bonaire, St Eustatius and Saba. Interviewers of CBS will go to the randomly selected households to administer the questionnaire.

The Labour force survey is a sample survey conducted among households every two years by CBS. In this survey, CBS measures labour market developments in the Caribbean Netherlands. One of the most important results of the Labour force survey is the unemployment rate, i.e. the percentage of the labour force that is looking for a job. Other important results are the participation rate, the level of education, profession and working hours.

To gain a better understanding of the labour market developments on Bonaire, St Eustatius and Saba, CBS would like to kindly ask all selected households to participate in the survey. For this survey a total of 1233 addresses were randomly selected on Bonaire, 578 on St Eustatius and 571 on Saba.

CBS is obligated by law to process the collected information strictly confidentially. Therefore, CBS has taken various measures to protect the collected information. All interviewers have a CBS  identification badge and must identify themselves upon request, so that everyone can be sure that the interview is being carried out by CBS. Statistics Netherlands never provides identifiable data to third parties, not even to other government bodies.
