MET VEEL PLEZIER EN ENTHOUSIASME WILLEN WIJ U OP DE HOOGTE BRENGEN VAN EEN BIJZONDER INITIATIEF VAN STICHTING ‘LEREN IS LEUK’: WIJ ZIJN GESTART MET DE OPRICHTING VAN EEN TWEEDE SCHOOL, GENAAMD BS DE PASSAAT!

Kralendijk,- Met deze stap zal bs De Passaat straks een nieuwe plek bieden waar kinderen zich op een fijne en stimulerende manier kunnen ontwikkelen.

Naast de onderwijskwaliteit die u van de Stichting ‘Leren is Leuk’ gewend bent, zal de aanpak van de tweede school verschillen door het geven van instructie in twee talen; Nederlands en Engels. Hierover kunt u meer lezen in de bijgevoegde folder.

Om deze school daadwerkelijk te kunnen realiseren, doorlopen we nu de officiële procedure die allereerst bestaat uit het verzamelen van ouderverklaringen.

Deze verklaringen geven aan dat er voldoende belangstelling is vanuit ouders en verzorger voor een nieuwe basisschool op Bonaire. We zijn dit initiatief gestart vanwege de grote toename van inwoners op het eiland. Dit heeft invloed op de capaciteit op de bestaande scholen. Er is in de komende jaren meer plaats nodig om nieuwe leerlingen op te vangen.

Aangezien het niet onze voorkeur heeft om de huidige school bs De Pelikaan nog verder uit te breiden, is er gekozen tot het nemen van het initiatief voor het oprichten van een tweede school. Wij doen een oproep aan alle ouders met kinderen tussen de 2 en 4 jaar – geboren tussen 2 november 2020 en 1 november 2023 – om op een van onderstaande momenten een ouderverklaring in te komen vullen. Uw steun is van onschatbare waarde!

Hoe meer ouders de verklaring invullen, hoe groter de kans dat bs De Passaat realiteit zal worden. Bovendien betekent het steunen van dit initiatief dat er in de toekomst meer onderwijsplaatsen beschikbaar komen, waardoor ouders hun kinderen gemakkelijker zullen kunnen plaatsen op de school van hun keuze.

De ouderverklaringen moeten persoonlijk ingeleverd worden. Tijdens het inleveren is het van belang dat u uw identiteitsbewijs bij zich heeft, plus het ID-nummer van het betreffende kind (of kinderen). Het ID-nummer van uw kind staat vermeld op het paspoort of het bewijs van inschrijving van Burgerzaken.

Kralendijk,- This is a fantastic development, as De Passaat primary school will soon offer a new place where children can develop in a fun and stimulating way. In addition to the quality of education you have come to expect from the “Learning is Fun” Foundation, the approach of the second school will differ by providing instruction in two languages: Dutch and English.

You can read more about this in the attached brochure. To actually establish this school, we are now going through the official process, which first involves collecting parental statements. These statements indicate that there is sufficient interest from parents and guardians in a new primary school on Bonaire.

We launched this initiative due to the significant increase in the population of the island. This impacts the capacity of the existing schools. More space will be needed in the coming years to accommodate new students. Since we do not prefer to expand the current

De Pelikaan primary school any further, we have decided to take the initiative to establish a second school. We are calling on all parents with children aged 2 to 4—born between November 2, 2020, and November 1, 2023—to complete a parental statement at one of the times below.

Your support is invaluable! The more parents complete the declaration, the greater the chance that De Passaat primary school will become a reality. Moreover, supporting this initiative means that more places will become available in the future, making it easier for parents to place their children in the school of their choice.

Parent declarations must be submitted in person. When submitting them, it is important that you have your ID with you, as well as the ID number of the child(ren) in question. Your child’s ID number is stated on their passport or proof of registration from the Civil Registry.
