Kralendijk – STINAPA Bonaire heeft haar nieuwe bestuursstructuur formeel geïmplementeerd. Met de inrichting van een Raad van Toezicht en een Raad van Bestuur wordt een belangrijk traject afgerond dat eind 2025 is ingezet om de governance, bestuurlijke verantwoordelijkheden en organisatorische continuïteit van STINAPA verder te versterken.

De nieuwe structuur vormt een belangrijke stap in de verdere professionalisering van STINAPA en biedt een heldere basis voor effectief toezicht, transparante besluitvorming en een duidelijke verdeling van verantwoordelijkheden binnen de organisatie.

Nieuwe governance

De nieuwe bestuursstructuur bestaat uit een Raad van Toezicht en een Raad van Bestuur

De Raad van Toezicht ziet toe op het functioneren van de Raad van Bestuur, het gevoerde beleid en de financiële continuïteit van de organisatie, en houdt toezicht op de algemene gang van zaken binnen STINAPA.

De Raad van Bestuur is belast met de bestuurlijke aansturing en dagelijkse leiding van de organisatie en is verantwoordelijk voor de uitvoering van het beleid en de strategische koers van STINAPA.

De nieuwe bestuursstructuur treedt formeel in werking per 18 augustus 2026.

Versterking van het management

De nieuwe bestuursstructuur staat niet op zichzelf, maar maakt deel uit van een bredere ontwikkeling gericht op het versterken van de organisatie. In het afgelopen jaar is ook het managementteam vernieuwd en verder opgebouwd.

Met de benoeming van de Manager Education & Communication in juni 2026 is het managementteam compleet. Vanuit hun verschillende verantwoordelijkheidsgebieden werken de leden van het managementteam gezamenlijk aan de dagelijkse aansturing van STINAPA, de verdere professionalisering van de organisatie en de uitvoering van haar strategische doelstellingen.

De combinatie van een vernieuwde governance-structuur en een versterkt managementteam zorgt voor een duidelijkere scheiding tussen toezicht, bestuur en management. Tegelijkertijd biedt dit ruimte voor meer focus, slagvaardigheid en continuïteit in de uitvoering van de werkzaamheden.

Klaar voor de uitdagingen van de toekomst

Met de nieuwe bestuursstructuur en het vernieuwde managementteam beschikt STINAPA over een stevige organisatorische basis om haar rol als natuurbeheerorganisatie verder te vervullen en zich voor te bereiden op de uitdagingen die voor Bonaire liggen.

De druk op de natuurlijke omgeving neemt toe en ontwikkelingen op het gebied van klimaatverandering, ruimtelijke ontwikkeling, toerisme en het gebruik van natuurlijke hulpbronnen vragen om deskundig, zorgvuldig en toekomstgericht natuurbeheer.

STINAPA blijft daarom investeren in professionele organisatieontwikkeling, samenwerking en kennis, en in het versterken van de verbinding tussen natuur en samenleving.
