E fondo a wòrdu establesé na 2017 pa sostené talento riba diferente area entre otro arte, kultura, siensia i deporte. Pa Rocquí, e sosten aki ta representá un impulso balioso pa su kresementu kontinuo den e deporte di bela (sunfish i laser) i su programa “Pebble in Motion”.

“Pebble in Motion” ta un inisiativa di desaroyo hubenil ku ta kombiná deporte de bela kompetitivo, herensia marítimo i kresementu personal. E programa ta enfoká no solamente riba entrenamentu tékniko respekto dominio de boto di bela pero tambe riba disiplina, resiliensia mental, preparashon pa kareda, eksposishon regional i internashonal, i fortalesé konsientemente e laso entre deporte i herensia marítimo di Karibe Hulandes i partikularmente Boneiru.

Durante e proyekto, e desaroyo di Rocquí ta wòrdu dokumentá kuidadosamente a traves di potrèt, video, entrevistanan i dokumentashon di progreso.

ROCQUÍ MARTIS ONTVANGT ONDERSTEUNING UIT EYOUNG TALENT FONDS VOOR “PEBBLE IN MOTION”

Kralendijk / Philipsburg,- De jonge zeiler Rocquí Martis zet een belangrijke stap vooruit in zijn sportieve en persoonlijke ontwikkeling met de goedkeuring van een bijdrage uit het EYoung Talent Fonds op Naam, opgericht door Ernst & Young Dutch Caribbean, in samenwerking met EY Cares, en beheerd door het Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied.

Het fonds werd in 2017 opgericht om talenten binnen onder andere kunst, cultuur, wetenschap en sport te ondersteunen. Voor Rocquí betekent deze steun een waardevolle impuls voor zijn verdere groei binnen de zeilsport en zijn traject “Pebble in Motion”.

“Pebble in Motion” is een jeugdontwikkelingsinitiatief waarin competitief zeilen, maritiem erfgoed en persoonlijke groei samenkomen.

Het traject richt zich niet alleen op technische zeiltraining, maar ook op discipline, mentale weerbaarheid, racevoorbereiding, regionale en internationale blootstelling, en het bewust versterken van de band tussen sport en Caribisch maritiem erfgoed. Binnen het project wordt Rocquí’s ontwikkeling zorgvuldig vastgelegd door middel van foto, video, korte storytelling-content, interviews en voortgangsdocumentatie.

Het doel hiervan is om zijn reis als jonge atleet zichtbaar te maken, jongeren te inspireren, maritieme kennis te bewaren en de ontwikkeling van zeilen als sportieve en culturele route voor de jeugd verder te stimuleren.

De ondersteuning vanuit het EYoung Talent Fonds zal hoofdzakelijk worden ingezet voor training en coaching. Dit sluit aan bij de ambitie van “Pebble in Motion” om Rocquí voor te bereiden op een hoger competitief niveau, met aandacht voor technische vaardigheid, strategisch inzicht en internationale ervaring.

Het project omvat onder meer zeiltraining, wedstrijdvoorbereiding, mentorship, maritieme erfgoeduitwisseling en contentproductie. Volgens het coverage plan worden onder andere een korte documentaire, meerdere korte story-video’s, een competition highlight reel, trainingsfoto’s, portretten, socialmediacontent en persmomenten voorzien om de impact van het traject breed te delen.

Voor Rocquí is dit traject meer dan sport alleen. Het is een kans om zich te ontwikkelen als jonge competitieve zeiler én als vertegenwoordiger van een bredere Caribische maritieme traditie. Door training, wedstrijden en kennisuitwisseling te combineren, groeit “Pebble in Motion” uit tot een model waarin jeugdontwikkeling, erfgoed, sport en storytelling elkaar versterken.

ROCQUÍ MARTIS RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM EYOUNG TALENT FUND FOR “PEBBLE IN MOTION”

Kralendijk / Philipsburg,- Young sailor Rocquí Martis is taking a significant step forward in his athletic and personal development with the approval of a contribution from the EYoung Talent Fund op Naam, established by Ernst & Young Dutch Caribbean, in collaboration with EY Cares, and administered by the Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied.

The fund was established in 2017 to support talent in fields including art, culture, science, and sports. For Rocquí, this support represents a valuable boost for his continued growth within the sport of sailing (sunfish and ILCA/laser) and his “Pebble in Motion” program.

“Pebble in Motion” is a youth development initiative that combines competitive sailing, maritime/sailing heritage, and personal growth.

The program focuses not only on technical sailing training but also on discipline, mental resilience, race preparation, regional and international exposure, and consciously strengthening the bond between sport and Dutch Caribbean/Bonaire maritime heritage.

Within the project, Rocquí’s development is carefully documented through photos, video, short storytelling content, interviews, and progress documentation.

The aim is to make his journey as a young athlete visible, inspire young people, preserve maritime/sailing knowledge, and further stimulate the development of sailing as a sporting and cultural route for youth. The support from the EYoung Talent Fund will primarily be used for training and coaching.

This aligns with the ambition of “Pebble in Motion” to prepare Rocquí for a higher competitive level, with a focus on technical skill, strategic insight, and international experience.

The project includes sailing training, competition preparation, mentorship, maritime/sailing heritage exchange, and content production, among other things. According to the coverage plan, a short documentary, multiple short story videos, a competition highlight reel, training photos, portraits, social media content, and press events are planned to widely share the impact of the program. For Rocquí, this program is more than just sport.

It is an opportunity to develop as a young competitive sailor and as a representative of a broader Dutch Caribbean maritime/sailing tradition.

By combining training, competitions, and knowledge exchange, “Pebble in Motion” is evolving into a model where youth development, heritage, sport, and storytelling reinforce one another.
