COLLECTIEF BESTUURSONTSLAG BONAIRIAANSE VOLLEYBAL BOND (BOVOBO)

Kralendijk,- Met onmiddellijke ingang heeft het voltallige bestuur van de Bonairiaanse Volleybal Bond (BOVOBO) besloten haar functie neer te leggen. Het collectieve ontslag is het gevolg van jarenlange structurele belemmeringen die de onafhankelijke en effectieve uitvoering van bestuurswerk onmogelijk hebben gemaakt.

Volgens het bestuur is sprake geweest van aanhoudende tegenwerking, boycot en onprofessionele inmenging door zowel lokale als externe partijen, waaronder medewerkers van INDEBON en het Ministerie van VWS. Daarnaast werd het bestuur geconfronteerd met ernstige incidenten, waaronder sabotage en bedreigingen aan het adres van bestuursleden en betrokken coaches.

Ondanks deze omstandigheden heeft BOVOBO in de periode 2017–2025 belangrijke successen geboekt: groei van de beachvolleybalsport op Bonaire, internationale erkenning door FIVB, NORCECA en CAZOVA voor de ontwikkeling en organisatie van beachvolleybal op Bonaire, toelating van de petitie voor volwaardig lidmaatschap van FIVB, met juridische beoordeling in aanloop naar officiële goedkeuring op het volgende FIVB-congres; samenwerking met NEVOBO, realisatie van een Beachpark, cursussen voor zowel scheidrechters als coaches, posities in de internationale bonden, hosten en deelname aan internationale toernooien binnen het NORCECA en CAZOVA netwerk.

Het bestuur betreurt dat deze inzet en prestaties lokaal structureel onvoldoende zijn erkend. De beslissing tot ontslag is genomen met opgeheven hoofd en met trots op wat bereikt is. In de bijlage bij de ontslagbrief is een overzicht opgenomen van alle resultaten behaald in de bestuursperiode 2017–2025.

BOVOBO bedankt alle leden, sponsoren, vrijwilligers en alle overige mensen die hun steun, toewijding en vertrouwen hebben geboden in de afgelopen jaren. Verder ook zeer belangrijk het inconditioneel steun en vertrouwen van NORCECA, CAZOVA en de samenwerking met NEVOBO voor de ontwikkeling en groei van volleybal op Bonaire en hoopt dat dit moment zal leiden tot reflectie en een nieuwe fase van waardering en samenwerking binnen de Bonairiaanse sportwereld.

COLLECTIVE RESIGNATION OF THE BONAIRE VOLLEYBALL FEDERATION (BOVOBO) BOARD

Kralendijk,- Effective immediately, the entire board of the Bonaire Volleyball Federation (BOVOBO) has decided to step down. This collective resignation is the result of years of structural obstacles that have made it impossible to perform board duties independently and effectively.

According to the board, there has been an there are persistent obstruction, boycotts, and unprofessional interference from both local and external parties, including staff members from INDEBON and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS). The board has also faced serious incidents, including sabotage and threats directed at board members and international coaches.

Despite these circumstances, BOVOBO has achieved important successes in the period 2017–2025: growth of the beach volleyball sport on Bonaire, international recognition by FIVB, NORCECA and CAZOVA for the development and organization of beach volleyball on Bonaire, acceptance of the petition for full membership of FIVB, with legal assessment in the run-up to official approval at the next FIVB congress; cooperation with NEVOBO, realization of a Beachpark, courses for both referees and coaches, positions in the international associations, hosting and participation in international tournaments within the NORCECA and CAZOVA network

The board regrets that their efforts and accomplishments have not been sufficiently recognized locally. This decision is made with heads held high and with pride in what has been achieved. A detailed summary of the results from the 2017–2025 board period is attached to the resignation letter.

BOVOBO thanks all members, sponsors, volunteers and all other people who have offered their support, dedication and trust in the past years. Furthermore also very important the unconditional support and trust of NORCECA, CAZOVA and the cooperation with NEVOBO for the development and growth of volleyball on Bonaire and hopes that this moment will lead to reflection and a new phase of appreciation and cooperation within the Bonairean sports world.
