VERENIGING BOUWEND BONAIRE DÉ KRACHTENBUNDELING VOOR DE BOUWSECTOR.

Kralendijk,- Op woensdag 19 maart 2025 is de Vereniging Bouwend Bonaire, afgekort VBB, officieel opgericht bij notaris Arends op Bonaire. Met deze formele stap bundelen twaalf bouwbedrijven, wegenbouwers, ontwikkelaars en toeleveranciers op Bonaire hun krachten om samen de belangen van de bouwsector te behartigen

De aanleiding voor de oprichting komt voort uit de toenemende stagnatie die de sector het afgelopen jaar ervaart en de behoefte om gezamenlijk als bouwsector naar buiten te kunnen treden en de algemene belangen die er zijn te behartigen. Veel bouwprojecten lopen vertraging op door onder andere het teruglopend aantal afgegeven bouwvergunningen.

Ook zijn er vele andere ontwikkelingen die binnen de bouwsector zorgen voor ongerustheid. Een voorbeeld hiervan betreft de aanstaande invoering van de nieuwe huisvestingsverordering. Hierover maakt de bouwsector zich zorgen. Deze ontwikkelingen raken niet alleen aannemers, maar ook leveranciers en ontwikkelaars. Om als sector een sterke, gezamenlijke stem richting de overheid te vormen, is besloten om een vereniging op te richten.

De bouwsector is volgens recente cijfers van het CBS de tweede bedrijfstak van Bonaire en vertegenwoordigt ongeveer 12% van de lokale economie. Het werd dus tijd om de krachten van deze sector te bundelen.

De vereniging heeft als doel om de belangen van de gehele bouwketen op Bonaire te vertegenwoordigen, knelpunten onder de aandacht te brengen en actief mee te denken over oplossingen die bijdragen aan een gezonde, duurzame en toekomstbestendige bouwsector op het eiland.

Kralendijk,- On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, the Vereniging Bouwend Bonaire, abbreviated VBB, was officially established at notary Arends in Bonaire.

With this formal step, twelve construction companies, road builders, developers and suppliers on Bonaire are joining forces to jointly represent the interests of the construction sector. The reason for the formation stems from the increasing stagnation experienced by the sector over the past year and the need to be able to come forward together as a construction sector and represent the general interests at hand. Many construction projects are being delayed due to, among other things, the declining number of building permits issued.

There are also many other developments that are causing concern within the construction industry. One example concerns the imminent introduction of the new housing regulation. This is of concern to the construction industry. These developments affect not only contractors, but also suppliers and developers. To form a strong, united voice as a sector towards the government, it was decided to establish an association. According to recent CBS figures, the construction sector is Bonaire’s second largest industry and represents about 12% of the local economy. So it was time to join the forces of this sector. The goal of the association is to represent the interests of the entire construction chain on Bonaire, to bring attention to bottlenecks and to actively contribute to solutions that contribute to a healthy, sustainable and future-proof construction sector on the island.
