NEDERLANDS:

ZR.MS. GRONINGEN NIEUW STATIONSSCHIP CARIBISCH GEBIED

Willemstad,- Zr.Ms. Groningen heeft de taak als stationsschip in het Caribisch gebied overgenomen. Het patrouilleschip meerde vrijdagochtend 19 september af in de St. Annabaai in Willemstad. Het schip zal de komende maanden in de regio patrouilleren en daarnaast is ze ook gereed om ingezet te worden voor het leveren van noodhulp.

De Koninklijke Marine heeft 4 patrouilleschepen van de Holland-klasse. Deze OPV’s (Ocean-Going Patrol Vessels) zijn flexibel inzetbare schepen voor de bewaking van kustwateren. De NH90 maritieme gevechtshelikopter is weer mee aan boord vertrokken, om het schip te ondersteunen met operaties vanuit de lucht.

Met de aanwezigheid van een stationsschip in de regio draagt defensie bij aan vrede en veiligheid in het Caribisch gebied.

HNLMS GRONINGEN NEW STATION SHIP IN THE CARIBBEAN REGION

Willemstad,- HNLMS Groningen has taken over the role of station ship in the Caribbean Region. The patrol ship moored in St. Anna Bay in Willemstad on Friday morning, September 19th.

The ship will patrol the region in the coming months and is also ready to be deployed for emergency relief.

The Royal Netherlands Navy has four Holland-class patrol ships. These OPVs (Ocean-Going Patrol Vessels) are flexible vessels for monitoring coastal waters.

The NH90 maritime attack helicopter has returned on board to support the ship with air operations.

By having a station ship in the region, the Ministry of Defence contributes to peace and security in the Caribbean Region.
