MINISTER STERK BEZOEKT BONAIRE, SINT EUSTATIUS EN SABA

Minister Sterk (Langdurige Zorg, Jeugd en Sport) brengt van maandag 27 april tot en met vrijdag 1 mei een werkbezoek aan Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba. Tijdens haar bezoek maakt zij kennis met de zorg- en welzijnsinstellingen, maatschappelijke organisaties en de Bestuurscolleges van de eilanden om in gesprek te gaan over de staat van de zorg, jeugdzorg en het sociaal domein.

Bonaire

Het werkbezoek begint op Bonaire. Hier brengt zij twee bezoeken in het kader van huiselijk geweld en kindermishandeling, namelijk aan vrouwenopvang Refugio Tabitha en aan het advies- en meldpunt Guiami. De volgende dag bezoekt de minister Fundashon Mariadal, Bonaire Medisch Centrum, Mental Health Caribbean en Sentro Akseso Boneiru. Daarnaast ontmoet ze het Bestuurscollege en spreekt ze met waarnemend Rijksvertegenwoordiger Jan Helmond. Op de laatste dag wordt, na een rondleiding bij FKPD in Rincon, de gerenoveerde speeltuin Misa di Rincon heropend. Ten slotte spreekt de minister met vertegenwoordigers van ZW Groep en gaat zij langs bij Rosa di Sharon.

Sint Eustatius

Op Sint Eustatius heeft de minister een ontmoeting met het Bestuurscollege. Vervolgens gaat zij op een huisbezoek in het kader van jeugdzorg en bezoekt ze de Sint Eustatius Health Care Foundation en Auxiliary Home. Ook spreekt ze met vertegenwoordigers van het Public Health Department en Social Directorate van het openbaar lichaam Sint Eustatius.

Saba 

Op Saba ontmoet de minister het Bestuurscollege. Verder bezoekt zij de Domestic Violence Shelter en spreekt zij met vertegenwoordigers van het Community Development and Culture Department van het openbaar lichaam Saba. Het werkbezoek wordt afgesloten met een bezoek aan Saba Cares, waar ook een deel van het nieuwe verpleeghuis wordt geopend.

Minister Sterk (Long-Term Care, Youth and Sport) is making a working visit to Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba from Monday 27 April up to and including Friday 1 May. During her visit, she will be introduced to the care and welfare institutions, social organisations, and the Executive Councils of the islands to discuss the state of care, youth care, and the social domain.

Bonaire

The working visit starts on Bonaire. Here, she will be making two visits in the context of domestic violence and child abuse, namely to the women’s shelter Refugio Tabitha and to the advice and reporting hotline Guiami. The next day, the Minister will visit Fundashon Mariadal, Bonaire Medisch Centrum, Mental Health Caribbean, and Sentro Akseso Boneiru. In addition, she is meeting the Executive Council, and she will be speaking with acting Kingdom Representative Jan Helmond. On the last day, after a tour at FKPD in Rincon, the renovated playground Misa di Rincon will be reopened. Finally, the Minister will be speaking with representatives of ZW Group and visiting Rosa di Sharon.

St. Eustatius

On St. Eustatius, the Minister has a meeting with the Executive Council. She will then make a house call in the context of youth care and she will visit the St. Eustatius Health Care Foundation and Auxiliary Home. She will also speak with representatives of the Public Health Department and the Social Directorate of the Public Entity St. Eustatius.

Saba 

On Saba, the Minister will be meeting the Executive Council. In addition, she will visit the Domestic Violence Shelter and speak with representatives of the Community Development and Culture Department of the Public Entity Saba. The working visit will end with a visit to Saba Cares, where a part of the new nursing home is also being opened.
