BONAIRE KONDIGT EEN MAAND VOL ACTIVITEITEN AAN OM DE  TOERISMEMAAND TE VIEREN

Kralendijk,- Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) kondigt met trots een programma aan van activiteiten die de hele maand september duren om de Toerismemaand te vieren, met als hoogtepunt de viering van Wereldtoerismedag op 27 september.

Gedurende de hele maand organiseert TCB diverse activiteiten om de cultuur, het erfgoed, de toeristische sector en de mensen en ervaringen van Bonaire te vieren, die het eiland tot een unieke bestemming maken voor bezoekers van over de hele wereld.

Elke zaterdag in september, te beginnen op 5 september, krijgen bezoekers die aankomen op de Flamingo International Airport van Bonaire een warm Bonaire-welkom, vol ritme en  folkloristische muziek van ons eiland. Bezoekers krijgen ook de gelegenheid om lokale Bonaire-ambassadeurs, gekleed in traditionele folkloristische klederdracht te ontmoeten en met hen op de foto te gaan. Als blijk van waardering ontvangen aankomende bezoekers een speciaal welkomstcadeau in het kader van het programma van TCB om bezoekers te behouden, Bonaire Ambassadors.

De feestelijkheden worden voorgezet met de Dia di Boneiru – Bonairedag op 6 september, een dag die in het teken staat van de cultuur, de geschiedenis en de identiteit van ons eiland. Ter ere van deze belangrijke gelegenheid vinden er overal op het eiland diverse activiteiten en evenementen plaats.

“De Toerismemaand biedt ons de kans om niet alleen het belang van het toerisme voor Bonaire te vieren, maar ook de mensen, de cultuur, het erfgoed en de ervaringen die ons eiland zo bijzonder maken”, aldus Elesiër Angel, directeur van Tourism Corporation Bonaire. “Alles wat we doen op het gebied van toerisme hangt met elkaar samen, van de ervaringen die we creëren voor onze bezoekers tot de kansen die het toerisme onze gemeenschap biedt. Met deze activiteiten willen we ons eiland vieren, onze inwoners erbij betrekken en het authentieke karakter van Bonaire blijven delen met de wereld.”

Op 19 september organiseert TCB een toeristische speurtocht in Rincon voor kinderen van 8 tot 12 jaar. Dit leuke en leerzame evenement neemt de deelnemers mee op een reis langs verschillende toeristische en historische locaties, waar ze aan activiteiten kunnen deelnemen en meer leren over de rijke geschiedenis en het erfgoed van Bonaire. De winnaars van de toeristische speurtocht worden bekendgemaakt tijdens het Taste of Bonaire-evenement op 26 september.

TCB heeft onlangs ook de volgende editie van de Capture Bonaire Photo Contest 2026 gelanceerd, waarbij deelnemers worden uitgenodigd om hun unieke kijk op het eiland vast te leggen en te delen. De wedstrijd duurt vier weken van 19 augustus tot en met 16 september 2026 en de drie winnaars worden geselecteerd uit alle in aanmerking komende inzendingen die via het officiële wedstrijdplatform zijn ingediend. De winnaars worden op 23 september 2026 bekendgemaakt.

Op 24 en 25 september organiseert TCB haar jaarlijkse Bonaire Tourism Summit, met als thema “Everything is connected – Alles is verbonden”. Tijdens de summit krijgen partners en stakeholders uit de toeristische sector updates over de laatste ontwikkelingen binnen de sector, waaronder luchtverbindingen, marketinginitiatieven, public relationsstrategieën en andere belangrijke onderwerpen die bepalend zijn voor de toekomst van het toerisme op Bonaire. Partners en stakeholders worden aangemoedigd zich in te schrijven en deel te nemen.

De viering die een maand duurt bereikt zijn hoogtepunt op zaterdag 26 september met de volgende editie van Taste of Bonaire, waar inwoners en bezoekers samenkomen om te genieten van het culinaire aanbod, de cultuur, de muziek en de gemeenschapszin van het eiland.

BONAIRE ANNOUNCES MONTH-LONG ACTIVITIES IN CELEBRATION OF TOURISM MONTH

Kralendijk,- Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) is proud to announce a month-long program of activities throughout September in celebration of Tourism Month, culminating with the observance of World Tourism Day on September 27.

Throughout the month, TCB will host a variety of activities designed to celebrate Bonaire’s culture, heritage, tourism industry, and the people and experiences that make the island a unique destination for visitors from around the world.

Every Saturday in September, beginning on September 5, arriving visitors at Bonaire’s Flamingo International Airport will receive a warm Bonaire welcome filled with the island’s rhythm and folkloric music. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet and take photos with local Bonaire Ambassadors dressed in traditional folkloric attire. As a token of appreciation, arriving visitors will receive a special welcome gift as part of TCB’s visitor retention program, Bonaire Ambassadors.

The celebrations will continue with Bonaire Day on September 6, a day dedicated to celebrating the island’s culture, history, and identity. Various activities and events will take place across the island in recognition of this important occasion.

“Tourism Month is an opportunity for us to celebrate not only the importance of tourism to Bonaire, but also the people, culture, heritage, and experiences that make our island so special,” said Elesiër Angel, CEO of Tourism Corporation Bonaire. “Everything we do within tourism is connected, from the experiences we create for our visitors to the opportunities tourism provides for our community. On September 19, TCB will organize a Tourism Scavenger Hunt in Rincon for children between the ages of 8 and 12. The fun and educational event will take participants on a journey through various tourist and historical sites, where they will take part in activities and learn more about Bonaire’s rich history and heritage. The winners of the Tourism Scavenger Hunt will be announced during the Taste of Bonaire event on September 26.

TCB also recently launched the next edition of the Capture Bonaire Photo Contest 2026, inviting participants to capture and share their unique perspective of the island. The four-week contest runs from August 19 through September 16, 2026, with the top three winners selected from all eligible entries submitted through the official contest platform. The winners will be announced on September 23, 2026.

On September 24 and 25, TCB will host its Annual Bonaire Tourism Summit, under the theme “Everything is Connected”. The summit will provide tourism partners and stakeholders with updates on the latest developments within the industry, including airlift, marketing initiatives, public relations strategies, and other key topics shaping the future of tourism on Bonaire. Partners and stakeholders are encouraged to register and participate.

The month-long celebration will culminate on Saturday, September 26, with the next edition of Taste of Bonaire, bringing together residents and visitors to celebrate the island’s culinary offerings, culture, music, and community.
