BEKENDMAKING TARIEVEN ELEKTRICITEIT EN DRINKWATER PER 1 JULI 2026

Kralendijk, 30 juni 2026 – Water – en Energiebedrijf Bonaire N.V (WEB) maakt de tarieven bekend die per 1 juli 2026 van kracht worden voor elektriciteit en drinkwater.

Ten opzichte van de tarieven per 1 januari 2026 zijn er zowel dalingen als stijgingen. Vast gebruikstarief – daling Bij de tariefstelling per 1 januari 2026 was er bij de betrokken Ministeries nog niet voldoende subsidiebudget beschikbaar om de vaste gebruikstarieven voldoende te kunnen verlagen.

WEB heeft intensief samengewerkt met het Ministerie van Economische Zaken (EZK) het Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat (I&W) en andere stakeholders voor additionele subsidies van de vaste gebruikstarieven.

Inmiddels is aanvullend budget vrijgemaakt.

Dit maakt het mogelijk om de vaste gebruikstarieven per 1 juli 2026 verder te verlagen. Voor elektriciteit geldt de verlaging voor alle aansluitingscategorieën.

Voor de aansluitingen t/m 3*35 Ampère geldt een daling van 25% van USD 47,80 per maand naar USD 35,85 per maand.

Voor drinkwater geldt voor de normale ½ inch aansluiting een verlaging van USD 11,60 per maand naar USD 3,54 per maand. Voor de tarieven van alle overige aansluitingen verwijzen we u naar onze website.

Variabel gebruikstarief elektriciteit – stijging Als gevolg van de aanzienlijke stijging van de dieselprijs door het conflict tussen de Verenigde staten en Iran stijgen de kosten voor het produceren van elektriciteit door ContourGlobal Bonaire en stijgt daarmee het variabel gebruikstarief voor elektriciteit (per kWh) fors.

De Variabele tarieven die per 1 juli 2026 ingaan, stijgen van USD 0,3868 naar USD 0,5021 per kWh. Hierbij merken wij op dat WEB en CGB op slechts 32% van de tarieven invloed hebben. Dus ca. 68% van het tarief is afhankelijk van brandstof.

Dit onderstreept het belang van het initiatief van WEB en CGB om de windmolens te realiseren. Daarom blijft CGB, WEB, OLB tezamen met stakeholders, zich ondertussen actief inspannen om de tarieven minder afhankelijk te maken van olieprijzen.

Tarief Pagabon – stijging Door de combinatie van een lager vast gebruikstarief en een hoger variabel gebruikstarief stijgt het Pagabon-tarief per saldo met 9,6%.

Dit is een stijging van USD 0,6062 naar USD 0,6642. Deze stijging valt lager uit, doordat de verlaging van de vaste tarieven de stijging van de olieprijzen deels competeert.

Facturatie De nieuwe periodieke tarieven elektriciteit en drinkwater worden toegepast op de facturen vanaf de verbruiksperiode met een startdatum in juli 2026.

Voor afnemers op basis van Pagabon geldt dat het gewijzigde tarief direct zichtbaar is vanaf 1 juli 2026.

WEB Bonaire, CGB, OLB en andere stakeholders werken intensief samen om Bonaire duurzamer te maken en om de tarieven minder afhankelijk te maken van brandstof.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF ELECTRICITY AND DRINKING WATER RATES AS OF JULY 1, 2026

Kralendijk, June 30th, 2026 Water -en Energiebedrijf Bonaire N.V (WEB) announces the rates that will come into effect on July 1, 2026, for electricity and drinking water.

Compared to the rates as of January 1, 2026, there are both decreases and increases. Fixed usage rates – decrease When setting the rates as of January 1, 2026, the involved Ministries did not yet have sufficient subsidy budget available to adequately reduce the fixed usage rates.

WEB has worked intensively with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK), the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (I&W), and other stakeholders to secure additional subsidies for the fixed usage rates.

Additional budget has now been made available. This makes it possible to further reduce the fixed usage rates as of July 1, 2026.

For electricity, the reduction applies to all connection categories. For connections up to and including 3×35 Ampere, the rate decreases by 25%, from USD 47.80 per month to USD 35.85 per month.

For drinking water, the standard ½ inch connection will decrease from USD 11.60 per month to USD 3.54 per month.

Variable electricity rates – increase As a result of the significant increase in diesel prices caused by the conflict between the United States and Iran, the cost of generating electricity by ContourGlobal Bonaire (CGB) has risen considerably.

Consequently, the variable electricity rate (per kWh) will also increase significantly. The variable rates effective as of July 1, 2026, will increase from USD 0.3868 to USD 0.5021 per kWh.

It is important to note that WEB and CGB only have influence over approximately 32% of the electricity rates. Around 68% of the rates is determined by fuel costs.

Pagabon rates – increase Due to the combination of a lower fixed usage charge and a higher variable electricity rate, the overall Pagabon rate will increase by 9.6%.

The rate will increase from USD 0.6062 to USD 0.6642. This increase is lower than it would otherwise have been because the reduction in the fixed service charges partially offsets the impact of the higher oil prices.

Billing The new periodic rates for electricity and drinking water will be applied to invoices starting from the consumption period with a start date in July 2026.

For customers using Pagabon, the adjusted rates will be visible immediately from July 1, 2026.

WEB Bonaire, CGB, the Public Entity Bonaire (OLB), and other stakeholders are working closely together to make Bonaire more sustainable and to reduce the dependence of utility rates on fuel prices.
