JICN GEEFT MEER INZICHT IN HET WERK ACHTER DE MUREN

Kralendijk,- Justitiële Inrichting Caribisch Nederland (JICN) start in juni met de communicatiecampagne ‘Achter deze bril’. Hiermee geeft JICN stap voor stap meer inzicht in wat er dagelijks binnen de inrichting gebeurt.

Tijdens de mediatour van JICN hebben directeur Peter Hengeveld en waarnemend plaatsvervangend directeur Anna Domacasse in verschillende media uitleg gegeven over deze aanpak. Zij lichtten toe dat voorbereiding op terugkeer niet pas aan het einde van een detentie begint, maar vanaf dag één.

Binnen JICN wordt gewerkt aan veiligheid, structuur, begeleiding, werk en ontwikkeling. Dat helpt mensen om zich voor te bereiden op hun terugkeer in de samenleving.

Een veilige terugkeer vraagt ook eigen verantwoordelijkheid. Uiteindelijk moet iemand zelf de keuze maken om vooruit te gaan. Tegelijkertijd speelt de samenleving ook een rol. Mensen keren terug naar hun familie, werk en omgeving. Juist daarom is het belangrijk dat zij de kans krijgen om opnieuw hun plek te vinden.

Met Achter deze bril laat JICN zien wat vaak buiten beeld blijft: niet alleen de beveiliging, maar ook het dagelijkse werk van medewerkers, de begeleiding, het vakmanschap en de voorbereiding op een leven na detentie.

De komende periode volgen advertenties, radiospots, clips, portretten en andere uitingen waarin verschillende onderdelen van het werk binnen JICN worden belicht.

JICN PROVIDES MORE INSIGHT INTO THE WORK BEHIND THE WALLS

Kralendijk,- The Correctional Institution Caribbean Netherlands (JICN) is launching the communication campaign ‘Through This Lens’ in June. Through this campaign, JICN will gradually provide more insight into what happens inside the institution on a daily basis.

During JICN’s media tour, director Peter Hengeveld and acting deputy director Anna Domacasse explained this approach in various media appearances. They emphasized that preparation for reintegration does not begin at the end of detention, but from day one.

Within JICN, work is carried out in the areas of security, structure, guidance, employment and personal development. This helps people prepare for their return to society.

A safe return also requires personal responsibility. Ultimately, individuals must make the choice to move forward. At the same time, society also plays a role. People return to their families, jobs and communities. That is precisely why it is important that they are given the opportunity to find their place again.

With Through This Lens, JICN shows what often remains out of sight: not only security measures, but also the daily work of staff, guidance and support, craftsmanship, and preparation for life after detention.

In the coming period, advertisements, radio spots, video clips, portraits and other communication materials will highlight different aspects of the work carried out within JICN.
