Kralendijk,- Fundashon Ambulans Deseo Boneiru (FADB) voelt zich vereerd een ondersteunende rol te mogen spelen tijdens de droomreis van Billy Valentijn op Bonaire.

Op verzoek van de organisatie achter Billy’s reis stelt FADB haar wensambulance drie weken lang beschikbaar om hem veilig en comfortabel te vervoeren naar de verschillende activiteiten die voor hem zijn gepland.

Omdat er op het eiland geen ander geschikt liggend vervoer aanwezig is, is de inzet van de wensambulance van essentieel belang om Billy’s wensen in vervulling te laten gaan. Mimi Dongen, oprichtster van FADB, licht toe:

” Voor Billy maakten we met liefde een uitzondering: in plaats van één wens mochten we er drie vervullen. Daarnaast haalden we hem op bij Flamingo Airport en zullen we hem ook weer terugbrengen.

Toen bleek dat er geen passend alternatief vervoer beschikbaar was en een donateur zich meldde om nóg meer wensen mogelijk te maken, hebben we samen met ons team van vrijwilligers direct gekeken hoe we hierin extra konden ondersteunen.

Waar de inzetbaarheid van onze vrijwilligers het toelaat, zetten we onze ambulance met volledige toewijding in.

We zijn dankbaar dat we op deze manier een waardevolle bijdrage mogen leveren aan deze bijzondere reis.” Het voorlopige programma van Billy’s verblijf, waarbij de wensambulance in elk geval ingezet

zal worden, omvat onder andere:

• Feest bij Parke Isidel (1-jarig bestaan)

• Meet & Greet tijdens een voetbalwedstrijd van SV La Fama

• Een drankje bij Karel’s Beach Bar

• IJsje eten bij Luciano

• Zwemmen in Sorobon

• Rondrit over Noord-Bonaire (met o.a. Rincon)

• Rondrit over Zuid-Bonaire (langs de zoutpannen)

• En hopelijk nog meer mooie momenten die gerealiseerd kunnen worden Billy werd op maandag 20 mei hartelijk onthaald op Flamingo Airport door een grote groep familie, vrienden en sympathisanten.

De wensambulance bracht hem vervolgens naar zijn tijdelijke verblijf bij Eden Beach Resort, dat door zijn familie feestelijk was ingericht.

Over Fundashon Ambulans Deseo Boneiru (FADB) Fundashon Ambulans Deseo Boneiru werd opgericht in oktober 2024 en heeft sindsdien al zes bijzondere wensen in vervulling mogen laten gaan.

De stichting vervult kosteloos (laatste) wensen van immobiele en/of terminale patiënten op Bonaire, met als doel hen nog één keer een betekenisvol moment te laten beleven.

FADB beschikt over een speciaal ingerichte wensambulance, die met grote dankbaarheid werd ontvangen van Stichting Ambulance Wens Nederland.

Dankzij de kosteloze verscheping door Nirint Shipping en inklaring van de Douane kon de ambulance naar Bonaire worden gebracht. FADB maakt het mogelijk om kosteloos (laatste) wensen te vervullen – zoals het bijwonen van een familiefeest, een dagje strand, of samen nog één keer genieten van een zonsondergang. Voor de unieke situatie van Billy maakt FADB graag een uitzondering.

Dankzij een anonieme donateur worden alle kosten voor zijn extra wensen volledig door de stichting gedragen. De stichting draait volledig op vrijwilligers en is afhankelijk van donaties en steun vanuit de gemeenschap.

Kralendijk,- Fundashon Ambulans Deseo Boneiru (FADB) is honored to play a supportive role in making Billy Valentijn’s dream trip on Bonaire a reality.

At the request of the organization behind Billy’s journey, FADB is making its wish ambulance available for three weeks to safely and comfortably transport him to the various activities planned for him. As there is no other suitable transportation on the island that allows for lying down, the use of the wish ambulance is essential in fulfilling Billy’s wishes.

Mimi Dongen, founder of FADB, explains: “For Billy, we gladly made an exception: instead of one wish, we granted three. In addition, we picked him up from Flamingo Airport and will take him back as well. When it became clear that no suitable alternative transportation was available, and a donor stepped forward to make even more wishes possible, our team of volunteers immediately looked into how we could offer additional support.

Where volunteer availability allows, we are wholeheartedly committing our ambulance. We’re grateful to contribute in this meaningful way to such a special journey.”

The tentative itinerary for Billy’s visit, with confirmed support from the wish ambulance, includes the following highlights:
