RUIM 140 BEZOEKERS VOOR INTERACTIEVE THEATERVOORSTELLING ‘STIMÁ I PROTEHÁ’

Kralendijk,- Van 12 t/m 15 mei vonden op Bonaire interactieve theatervoorstellingen plaats onder de titel Stimá i Protehá.

De reeks werd georganiseerd door tei p’abo in samenwerking met Storyteller Archell Thompson en twee talentvolle lokale acteurs.

De eerste sessie vond plaats bij Jong Bonaire en was speciaal gericht op jongeren. De daaropvolgende voorstellingen werden gehouden in de wijken Tera Kòrá, Amboina, Nikiboko en Rincon, om het zo toegankelijk mogelijk te maken voor de wijkbewoners.

In totaal namen meer dan 140 mensen deel. Met behulp van acteurs werd een fictieve maar herkenbare situatie nagespeeld, gebaseerd op echte situaties die op Bonaire voorkomen. Het publiek kreeg de rol van onderzoeker.

Om hen in hun rol van die onderzoeker te verplaatsen, kreeg men een zogenoemde Casuslabjas aangeboden.

Thema’s als seksuele veiligheid, bescherming en grenzen stonden centraal. De voorstellingen boden een veilige en interactieve setting om samen in gesprek te gaan over moeilijke onderwerpen die anders vaak onbesproken blijven.

Het doel van Stimá i Protehá is bewustwording creëren en bespreekbaarheid vergroten. De betrokkenheid van het publiek was groot.

Veel bezoekers dachten dat het om een echte situatie ging, wat laat zien hoezeer het verhaal hen raakte. Aan het eind van elke voorstelling werden de acteurs uit hun rol gehaald en werd benadrukt dat het om een nagespeelde situatie ging.

Tei p’abo is een samenwerking tussen hulpverleningsorganisaties op Bonaire en richt zich op het vergroten van bewustwording en het bespreekbaar maken van huiselijk geweld en kindermishandeling. Het initiatief is onderdeel van het Bestuursakkoord aanpak huiselijk geweld en kindermishandeling Caribisch Nederland.

Partners binnen tei p’abo zijn onder andere Sentro Akseso Boneiru, Zorg en Jeugd Caribisch Nederland, Mental Health Caribbean, Stichting Reclassering CN, de Voogdijraad en het Openbaar Lichaam Bonaire.

OVER 140 VISITORS FOR INTERACTIVE THEATRE PERFORMANCE ‘STIMÁ I PROTEHÁ’.

Kralendijk,- From 12 to the 15 May, interactive theatre performances titled ‘Stimá i Protehá’ took place on Bonaire.

The series was organized by tei p’abo in collaboration with Storyteller Archell Thompson and two talented local actors.

The first session took place at Jong Bonaire and was specifically aimed at young people. The subsequent performances were held in the neighbourhoods of Tera Kòrá, Amboina, Nikiboko, and Rincon, to make it as accessible as possible for the residents.

In total, more than 140 people participated. With the help of actors, a fictional but recognizable situation was re-enacted, based on real situations that occur on Bonaire.

The audience was given the role of researcher. To help them step into this role, they were offered a so-called ‘Case Lab Coat.’

Themes such as sexual safety, protection, and boundaries were central. The performances offered a safe and interactive setting to engage in conversation about difficult topics that otherwise often remain unspoken.

The goal of Stimá i Protehá is to create awareness and increase openness for discussion. The audience’s involvement was significant. Many visitors thought it was a real situation, which shows how much the story affected them. At the end of each performance, the actors were taken out of their roles, and it was emphasized that it was a re-enacted situation.

Tei p’abo is a collaboration between aid organizations on Bonaire and focuses on increasing awareness and making domestic violence and child abuse discussable.

The initiative is part of the Administrative Agreement on tackling domestic violence and child abuse in the Caribbean Netherlands.

Partners within tei p’abo include Sentro Akseso Boneiru, Care and Youth Caribbean Netherlands, Mental Health Caribbean, Stichting Reclassering CN, the Guardianship Council, and the Public Entity Bonaire.
