MEDEWERKERS DOUANE CARIBISCH NEDERLAND ONTVANGEN MEDAILLES TROUWE EN LANGDURIGE DIENST

Kralendijk,- Op zondag 18 mei ontvingen 20 medewerkers van de Belastingdienst Caribisch Nederland op Bonaire, Sint Eustatius en Saba de ‘Medaille trouwe en langdurige dienst Douane’. Deze onderscheiding wordt toegekend aan medewerkers die 12,5, 25, 40 of zelfs 50 jaar in dienst zijn van de Douane.

Tijdens een officiële ceremonie werden de medailles en oorkondes respectievelijk uitgereikt door Directeur Beleid Strategie & Internationaal, mevrouw Mechteld Fletcher en Directeur Belastingdienst Caribisch Nederland, mevrouw Claudia Toet. De douanemedewerkers ontvingen hun onderscheidingen in het bijzijn van hun familie en dierbaren.

Deze onderscheiding staat los van het zogenaamd rijksambtsjubileum. Indien medewerkers eerder in dienst van een ander NL ministerie heeft gewerkt, telt het ambtsjubileum de jaren van zowel het andere ministerie en de daadwerkelijk Douanejaren bij elkaar op. In het geval van de onderscheiding voor langdurige en trouwe dienst tellen alleen de Douanejaren mee.

Dit is een initiatief die enkele jaren terug in Nederland is gestart en vond nu voor het eerst plaats in Caribisch Nederland. Daarmee is een belangrijke stap gezet in het erkennen van langdurige en toegewijde dienstverbanden in Caribisch Nederland.

Directeur van de Belastingdienst Caribisch Nederland Claudia Toet: “Deze medaille is meer dan een blijk van waardering. Het is een eerbetoon aan onze Douane collega’s die jarenlang met hart en ziel bijdragen aan de Douane Caribisch Nederland. Hun toewijding vormt de ruggengraat van onze samenleving en organisatie, en zondag stonden we daar samen met trots bij stil”. De medaille voor trouwe dienst is een waardering voor jaren van inzet en loyaliteit. Met deze erkenning spreken we onze trots uit voor al onze collega’s zie zich elke dag opnieuw met toewijding inzetten voor de Douane.

CARIBBEAN NETHERLANDS CUSTOMS EMPLOYEES RECEIVE MEDALS FOR LOYAL AND LONG-TERM SERVICE

Kralendijk,- On Sunday, May 18, twenty employees of the Belastingdienst Caribisch Nederland on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba received the ‘Medal for loyal and long service to Customs’. This distinction is awarded to employees who have been in service of Customs for 12.5, 25, 40, or even 50 years.

During an official ceremony, the medals and certificates were presented by respectively the Director of Policy, Strategy & International Affairs, Ms. Mechteld Fletcher, and the Director of the Belastingdienst Caribisch Nederland, Mrs. Claudia Toet. The customs employees received their distinctions in the presence of their family and loved ones.

This distinction is separate from the so-called jubilee. If employees were previously employed by another Dutch ministry, the jubilee includes the years of service at both the other ministry and the actual years of service at Customs combined. However, for the medal for long and loyal service, only the years of service at Customs are counted.

This is an initiative that started a few years ago in the Netherlands and has now taken place in the Caribbean Netherlands for the first time. This marks an important step in recognizing long-term and dedicated employment within the Caribbean Netherlands.

Director of the Belastingdienst Caribisch Claudia Toet: “This medal is more than a token of appreciation. It is a tribute to our Customs colleagues who, for many years, have contributed to Customs Caribbean Netherlands with heart and soul. Their dedication forms the backbone of our society and organization, and on sunday we proudly took a moment to reflect on that together”.

The medal for loyal service is an appreciation for years of dedication and loyalty. With this recognition, we express our pride in all our colleagues who dedicate themselves to Customs with commitment every day.
