SPEELAKKOORD TUSSEN JANTJE BETON, VWS EN HET OPENBAAR LICHAAM BONAIRE ONDERTEKEND

Kralendijk –Vandaag is een belangrijke stap gezet om kinderen op Bonaire meer en betere speelruimte te bieden. In de speeltuin van Nieuw Amsterdam, die momenteel wordt gebouwd, hebben Jantje Beton, het Ministerie van Volksgezondheid, Welzijn en Sport (VWS) en het Openbaar Lichaam Bonaire (OLB) het Speelakkoord Bonaire 2025-2027 ondertekend.

Dit akkoord is gericht op het realiseren van veilige, uitdagende en toegankelijke speelplekken, zodat elk kind op Bonaire zich fysiek, sociaal en emotioneel kan ontwikkelen in een gezonde leefomgeving. Het Speelakkoord is ondertekend door Nina den Heyer, gedeputeerde van Samenleving & Zorg van Bonaire, Vincent Karremans, Staatssecretaris Jeugd, Preventie & Sport van VWS, en Mascha van Werven, directeur-bestuurder van Jantje Beton. Dit symbolische moment vond plaats in de speeltuin van Nieuw Amsterdam, die binnenkort zijn deuren opent.

Samenwerking voor meer en betere speelplekken
In het Speelakkoord is de samenwerking tussen de drie partijen voor de periode 2025 – 2027 vastgelegd. In het akkoord zijn concrete afspraken gemaakt over de aanleg, onderhoud en toegankelijkheid van speeltuinen en parken op Bonaire. Door samen te werken worden veilige en inspirerende speelplekken toegankelijker voor alle kinderen op Bonaire, zodat ze zich fysiek, sociaal en emotioneel kunnen ontwikkelen.

“Wij zijn ontzettend blij met de ondertekening van dit akkoord. Het is een belangrijke stap in het verbeteren van de leefomgeving van onze kinderen. Door samen te werken met Jantje Beton en VWS kunnen we ervoor zorgen dat het recht op spelen voor alle kinderen op Bonaire wordt gewaarborgd. De speeltuin van Nieuw Amsterdam is een mooi voorbeeld van wat we gezamenlijk kunnen bereiken.”

“Spelen is superbelangrijk voor kinderen. In de eerste plaats natuurlijk om samen lol te maken. Maar ook om buiten te zijn en te bewegen en daardoor lekker in je vel te zitten, lichamelijk en mentaal. We gaan samen met Bonaire en Jantje Beton regelen dat er meer speelplekken komen waar kinderen makkelijk en veilig terecht kunnen. Zodat er voor elk kind en elke ouder een vrolijk en gezond alternatief is voor thuiszitten met een schermpje.”

“Jantje Beton zet zich in voor het belang van spelen voor alle kinderen, ongeacht waar ze wonen. Dit Speelakkoord maakt het mogelijk om het speelklimaat op Bonaire te verbeteren en zoveel mogelijk kinderen te bereiken. De afgelopen periode hebben we met financiering van VWS en het OLB vier speelplekken mogen ontwikkelen. In 2024 hebben we wederom een prachtige bijdrage binnen kunnen halen, deze keer van de Nationale Postcode Loterij, waardoor we nog twee speel- en ontmoetingsplekken kunnen realiseren op Bonaire. Dat kunnen we niet alleen, daar hebben we het OLB en VWS bij nodig. Wij zijn enorm blij met deze samenwerking en de stappen die we samen kunnen zetten om spelen toegankelijk te maken voor alle kinderen op Bonaire.”

In the playground of Nieuw Amsterdam, currently under construction, Jantje Beton, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), and the Public Entity Bonaire (OLB) have signed the Bonaire Play Agreement 2025-2027.

This agreement is aimed at creating safe, stimulating, and accessible play areas, ensuring that every child in Bonaire can develop physically, socially, and emotionally in a healthy living environment. The Play Agreement was signed by Nina den Heyer, Commissioner for Society & Care in Bonaire, Vincent Karremans, State Secretary for Youth, Prevention & Sport at VWS, and Mascha van Werven, Managing Director of Jantje Beton. This symbolic moment took place in the Nieuw Amsterdam playground, which will soon open its doors.

Collaboration for more and better play areas

The Play Agreement formalises the collaboration between the three parties for the period 2025–2027. It includes concrete commitments regarding the development, maintenance, and accessibility of playgrounds and parks in Bonaire. By working together, safe and inspiring play spaces will become more accessible for all children in Bonaire, enabling their physical, social, and emotional growth.
