OPENBAAR MINISTERIE DOET OPROEP NA SCHIETINCIDENT TE KRALENDIJK.
Kralendijk, 6 februari 2024 – Op de avond van 2 februari jl. heeft er een ernstig schietincident plaatsgevonden op de openbare weg ter hoogte van MCB Playa, Kralendijk, Bonaire.
Een mannelijke verdachte heeft meerdere malen gericht geschoten op een persoon die zich in een donker gekleurde auto bevond.
Het slachtoffer heeft hierbij letsel opgelopen. Op het moment van het incident waren er veel mensen aanwezig in de omgeving, zowel voetgangers als automobilisten. Hierdoor werd het leven en de veiligheid van omstanders ernstig in gevaar gebracht.
Op 3 februari jl. zijn zowel de schutter als een medeverdachte aangehouden. Het Openbaar Ministerie BES werkt samen met de politie aan een grondig onderzoek om de feiten in deze zaak vast te stellen.
Om duidelijkheid te krijgen over de gebeurtenissen, doet het Openbaar Ministerie een dringend beroep op eenieder die op het moment van het incident in de buurt was en mogelijk relevante informatie heeft. Dit kan gaan om waarnemingen, geluids- of videomateriaal, of andere informatie die kan bijdragen aan het onderzoek.

PUBLIC PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE CALLS FOR INFORMATION FOLLOWING SHOOTING INCIDENT IN KRALENDIJK.
Kralendijk, February 5, 2024 – On the evening of February 2, a serious shooting incident took place on the public road near MCB Playa, Kralendijk, Bonaire.
A male suspect fired multiple targeted shots at a person inside a dark-colored car. The victim sustained injuries as a result. At the time of the incident, many people were present in the area, including pedestrians and motorists.
This put the lives and safety of bystanders at serious risk.
On February 3, both the shooter and an accomplice were arrested.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office BES is working closely with the police to conduct a thorough investigation to establish the facts in this case.
To gain clarity on the events, the Public Prosecutor’s Office makes an urgent appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have relevant information. This may include observations, audio or video recordings, or other information that could contribute to the investigation.
