NIEUWE LICHTING BOPK RONDT INTRODUCTIEPERIODE ‘SAMEN STERK’ AF EN START TWEEJARIGE OPLEIDING

WILLEMSTAD – Een nieuwe lichting van de Basis Opleiding Politie Kustwacht (BOPK) heeft gisteren, 7 september, de vier weken durende introductieperiode Samen Sterk succesvol afgerond. Met een officiële binnenkomst en pettenceremonie op Marinebasis Parera op Curaçao sloot deze intensieve eerste fase af en ging de tweejarige opleiding officieel van start.

De nieuwe lichting bestaat uit 23 aspiranten: 13 aspiranten van de Kustwacht, vijf van het Korps Politie Caribisch Nederland (KPCN) en vijf van het Korps Politie Sint Maarten (KPSM). De gezamenlijke opleiding

onderstreept de samenwerking tussen de verschillende diensten binnen het Caribisch deel van het Koninkrijk.

Tijdens Samen Sterk stonden persoonlijke ontwikkeling, fysieke en mentale weerbaarheid, samenwerking, discipline en professionele vaardigheden centraal. Gedurende vier weken werkten de aspiranten aan hun individuele ontwikkeling en leerden zij vooral om als één team te functioneren.

De introductieperiode werd afgesloten met een eindoefening, waarna de aspiranten gezamenlijk terugkeerden naar Marinebasis Parera. Bij aankomst werden zij volgens traditie verwelkomd tijdens het binnenklappen.

De komende twee jaar worden de aspiranten verder opgeleid en voorbereid op hun toekomstige werkzaamheden binnen de Kustwacht en de politiekorpsen. Daarbij wordt verder gebouwd aan vakkennis, operationele vaardigheden, integriteit, samenwerking en het vermogen om onder uiteenlopende omstandigheden professioneel op te treden.

Korps Politie Caribisch Nederland, Korps Politie Sint Maarten en Kustwacht Caribisch Gebied wensen alle aspiranten veel succes met hun opleiding en verdere ontwikkeling. Samen zetten zij vandaag een belangrijke stap richting een toekomst waarin zij zich inzetten voor veiligheid en rechtshandhaving binnen het Caribisch gebied.

NEW BOPK CLASS COMPLETES ‘STRONGER TOGETHER’ INTRODUCTION PERIOD AND STARTS TWO-YEAR TRAINING PROGRAM

WILLEMSTAD – A new class of the Basic Police and Coast Guard Training Program (BOPK) successfully completed the four-week ‘Stronger Together’ introduction period yesterday, the 7^th of September. With an official entry and cap ceremony at Marine Base Parera in Curaçao, this intensive first phase came to an end and the two-year training program officially began.

The new class consists of 23 recruits: 13 from the Coast Guard, five from the Dutch Caribbean Police Force (KPCN) and five from the Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM). The joint training program highlights the close cooperation between the various services within the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

During ‘Stronger Together’ the focus was on personal development, physical and mental resilience, teamwork, discipline and professional skills. Over the course of four weeks, the recruits worked on their individual development while learning, above all, to function as one team.

The introduction period concluded with a final exercise, after which the recruits returned together to Marine Base Parera. Upon arrival, they were welcomed in accordance with tradition during a ceremonial entry.

Over the next two years, the recruits will continue their education and preparation for their future duties within the Coast Guard and the police forces. The program will further develop their professional knowledge, operational skills, integrity, teamwork and ability to act professionally under a wide range of circumstances.

The Caribbean Netherlands Police Force, the Sint Maarten Police Force and the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard wish all recruits all the best during their training and continued development. Together, they are taking an important step towards a future in which they will contribute to safety, security and law enforcement throughout the Caribbean region
